Same to you and yours. I know how you and your Wife feel. My Mom and Dad live with me. Mom is 78 with COPD. Dad is 81, recovering from cancer surgery and radiation and has diabetes. As I write this the NYC subway system is still running on April 20. Tells you all you need to know about the leadership of NY State. Cuomo - who refused to purchase the 15,000 additional ventilators he was correctly told he would need years ago - makes a public scene begging the President for 30,000 ventilators. President says NY doesn't need 30,000, but sends what he can. President is right. To this day NY's ventilator needs, which never approached Andy's begged-for 30K, have been supplied federally because our state failed in its basic duty. Further, our governor has STILL been unable to give adequate logistical counts to to federal authorities on what medical supplies and personnel NY needs. Thus, we have a 90% EMPTY hospital ship docked in NY harbor because LIBERALS ARE GD MORONS!!!!

Keep telling us to practice social distancing while the NYC subway system spreads Covid 19 this morning, afternoon, and night. And you can stuff it about how needed the NYC subway is. Get a bike. No one in NY needs a subway more than anyone else in America needs their job.

You're not being realistic. The data from the facts do not support shutting down everything. Sweden is just an example of weighing the costs of morbidity compared to the costs of extreme shutdowns which leads us to conclude that perhaps we are handling this wrong. The data does support that there are certain groups of people that are in more danger than others. If 20% of the people over 65 with co-morbidity conditions perish because of this, but .1% under 50 perish, we know the risks and MUST act accordingly. And if it's as high as 20%, that means 80% of that group recover. 80% of the people that get it have no idea that they even had it. Why TF is our country shut down???????????????

You act as though there are no other costs to shutting down the economy. What about the millions who are NOT getting treatment or surgeries because of this? Does cancer take a break while we are on Wuhan Virus lock down? What about all of those people that need knee and hip replacements are must live in excruciating pain because some politician arbitrarily decides their needs are not essential? What about the hundreds of thousands of doctors and nurses and hospital workers that have no jobs now? Dude, the Mayo Clinic which is perhaps the #1 hospital on planet earth laid off 30,000 people. Do the lives of those patients they take care of count? What about cardiac patients that avoid hospitals because they're afraid of going to the hospital because of this virus? The death rate from all of these people will by far exceed anything from this Wuhan Virus.

If you answer the questions I ask honestly, you MUST say that these are valid concerns that indicate that the response to this virus is WAAAAAAYYYYY over blown. We are killing our way of life and economy because of the fear of a death rate for a small group of people that seems high when the reality is that it's a nothing burger for anyone under 50 with near zero mortality.

I get it. If you're afraid for your life, stay in your house and don't leave. Everyone else should be free to do as they please. WTF is wrong with being free? Make decisions for yourself according to your own assessments of risk. There are risks associated with being alive. The Wuhan Virus is just another risk to add to the list of the risks of being alive. Deal with it according to your own values. Why can't other people be free to make their own assessments? I get it. Leftists don't like people making free decisions in their own self interests. No matter how much you don't like it, you can't change it.

Time to end this shutdown and take the risks of being free, even in the face of factual data that shows that a virus that is dangerous to a small subset of people, but not too everyone.

As Thomas Jefferson said "I'd rather prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery." I agree.

Can you imagine how much of a disaster it would be if New Yorkers took to their bicycles to get around, en masse? the hospitals would fill up alright, with both COVID and bike injuries. Plus a bunch of road rage shootings, becuz, you know, Merica. Has this guy ever even been to NYC???

What baffles me is that people like this never seem to realize that their "right to make their own decisions" is generally superceded when those decisions they want to make can risk other people's lives. Also, if he's so adamant people should make their own decisions, and should be able to go about their business outside, why would he want the subways shut down? Under his throught process, shouldn't they be able to choose whether or not they want to take the subway?
