would be a good pick for the sens since doorion loves ahl players playing on the 3rd line.

I see you have installed your "Spatso Spellcheck App"

On a different note, it will be interesting to see the start that the Sens will have without Karlsson. Phaneuf (who is better than any Leaf defenseman according to the all seeing Spatso) did a real good impersonation of a pylon during that beating they took during that game against the Devils. I believe the PP of NJ (that kid Hischier looks pretty good) went 4 for 6. That should be of concern to a team that has problems scoring.

Did any of you guys do a count on the number of Goals the Sens scored on the Leafs in two games. For people who don't think the exhibition games don't mean anything your doing lots of talking about the outcomes.

Oops, sorry, talking about all the games except for the games where Sens wishbones the Leafs. Actually, ever since those games you seem fine to talk about other games. So funny, your all terrified of being ripped once the new season starts.

Corey pronman mailbag:

If Logan Brown can stay healthy how high of a ceiling does he have?

Hasn’t just been health with him, but work ethic too. If it all comes together for him, he has the potential to be a dominant NHL player. I’m not banking on that outcome though, even if I do like him and think he’ll be a good NHL forward, just see too much he needs to do better.

Actually I looked at something a little bit more relevant - not a game where Ottawa managed a few goals against a fourth string goalie but regular season. Leafs finishied 5th in goals for - and guess what, they are likely to improve on that. Have a look at where the Sens finished Spaaaaaatsoooo! And guess what? There is an excellent chance Sens will score far less this year! Not too far down though - Sens are already in the low rent district of this stat. So Sorry.

This must be a mistake. Did the Leafs not go deeper into the playoffs. Surely they must have gone deeper than the Sens? Well maybe playoffs don't matter?

Winning the cup is important.

Finishing deep is a good sign, if you're in a position to build on that success.

Sens got lucky with an easy path, they've lost some of the players that helped them, they have no quality youth stepping up to help them out, and their owner was too cheap to add any player worth a damn... doesn't look like they're in a position to build on last year's success.

Were the Ottawa Senators team that went to double overtime, in game seven of the ECFs , one goal away from the SCFs .......... a better team than the Senators team that starts the season next week????

There are a number of variables that have to be weighed, such as Erik Karlsson not being able to start the season, Marc Methot no longer being a Senator and the "rentals" that contributed in the deep playoff run, also not with the team. Also there were a couple of players added in the off season, to fill in the roster spots that were open.

In my opinion, the absence of Karlsson is going to be an issue if the Senators do not get off to a good start, is going to be the biggest factor.

So as of today, I would have to say the Senator that starts the season, on paper, is not as good as the team that took the Penguins to the brink of elimination, after dispatching the Bruins and Rangers to the golf course, to join the leafs, after the first two rounds.

Ottawa only made the playoffs by four points, and if Karlsson had missed a handful of games at the beginning of last season, they probably would not have made the playoffs.
