So sad, he was examined several days agp. Do you guys not follow anything other than Leaf press releases?

Before training camp started I thought six rookies had a shot at some regular season ice time. The forwards (in order of probability)

White
Brown
Chlapik

Dmen in order of probability

Harpur
Chabot
Englund

I notice that both Englund and Jaros have been sent down to the Belleville roster. Maybe Jaros moves ahead of Englund on possible call ups.

I think if the season starts today White is on injured reserve. Brown is on the main roster. Chlapik is assigned to Belleville.

Harpur and Chabot are on the roster opening night.

- spatso

Agreed.

Still not a big Harpur fan from seeing him so much in junior, but he has looked better than I thought he was in the pre-season

Rookies looked very strong tonight.

Brown was the best forward. Interesting, they played him with different lines and he looked good in every case. He looked strong on the penalty kill with Formenton. I liked Formenton as well. He was one of the youngest players taken in last year's draft and he is just starting to catch up with his body. Chlapik played well but not in the same class as Brown.

Chabot, what can you say? He was awesome. No way they will send him down. They risk a riot if they do.

I think Ottawa has a Dman (or two) they may need to deal.

Maybe if they retained 50% on Phanoof they could deal him.

Oh wait, nevermind.

You realize the Leafs already paid out more than 50% of his actual salary.

Phaneuf was a warrior for the Sens. No playoff run last year without him. Leafs did not have a Dman in the playoffs that came anywhere close to Phaneuf's compete and contribution levels.

It astounds me that so many Leaf fans are so shallow. Phaneuf competed hard every night for the Leafs. You know there were some nights out there where he was the only one who seemed to really care.

He comes to the Sens, he is playing great hockey, the team is having great success and Leaf fans just want him to fail. In fact, they are consistently bitter when it comes to success he has had.

I think this tell us something about Leaf fans.

When they deal Wideman away, then you'll know they're making room for Chabot on the roster, and not until then.

If you assume that MacArthur and White are on injury reserve come October 5 there is one forward roster spot available. Hard to believe that they would not give the spot to Brown. He has scored coaches goals. He stays hard on the puck in front of the net and he is very hard to move. Obviously he has the great hands and vision. Lots of kids do. More important is if he can handle the abuse around the net. When he is finished growing into his body he is going to be pushing 6'7" and weigh in at +240lbs. No longer is Brown available in a trade for Duchene.

Formenton is having an amazing camp. But he is very young. Had he been born two days later he would not have qualified for this year's draft. His speed and physical play are very impressive. Interesting to see Brown and Formenton used on the penalty kill.

There is no opening on D (I assume Karlsson starts on opening night). All the roster spots are filled. Somebody is going to have to be moved to make room for Chabot. Ceci playing with Oduya was real good. Claesson plays with Karlsson. Phaneuf plays with Chabot. So, Borowiecki and Wideman are being pushed to the edges. I think they want to keep Harpur. Great camp.

So, you saw what I saw last night.

Your softening a little on the kid.

Not a lot of players you buy a ticket to see play. Most of us buy tickets to support a team.

I buy tickets to watch Karlsson. I will buy tickets (at Sunrise) to see McDavid against the Panthers.

I will buy tickets to watch Chabot.

What does it say about sens fans who say dumb poop like "leafs already paid 50% of his salary" and "phanuef is better than any current leaf dman"?

His level of idiocy are constantly reaching new heights. This is why I wanted the sens to win the septemcup and win preseason games. These quotes will provide great deals of entertainment.

The Leafs can afford to have paid the actual salary... because the Leafs make money, and Leafs fan actually support their team.

What does it have to do with you guys being unable to give him away?

Phanoof has looked very slow out there. It is like last year's playoffs sucked the remaining life out of him.

You should try to get into range before throwing a punch Spazzo.

I agree with that. That's why I'll never hate Phaneuf. Played his ass off to the best of his abilities.

But that doesn't change the fact that he has lost another step in his game. He's not as good/fast as he was when he was with the Leafs and he was getting slow with us.

For the third time in franchise history the Windsor Spitfires are Mastercard Memorial Cup champions.

Fourth-year veteran Aaron Luchuk scored the game winner 5:07 into the third period as the host Spitfires defeated the OHL champion Erie Otters 4-3 before a capacity crowd of 6,519 at the WFCU Centre.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Jeremy Bracco led the way with a goal and two helpers in the win, registering the lone assist on Luchuk’s game winning goal while Michael DiPietro made 32 saves and came up big late in the game.

Brown 40 pts., 30 games 1.33 ppg
Bracco 83 pts., 57 games 1.56 ppg

and yet, somehow, the leafs, whose core is much younger, don't even have room to take a look at Bracco this season while Brown is now your next choice as the saviour for Ottawa, after a couple pre-season games playing against half rosters and disinterested veterans.
