Did a ref delete your tuesday post from that thread as well?

I love that you're so insecure that you couldn't let it be, and had to start lying about it.

Look, I know you're completely obsessed with everything I do here ............ but I told you the truth .............. you've decided there's some big conspiracy mystery thingy here .......... if that's what spins your world, go for it.

If you don't want to believe me, try it for yourself.

What, did a ref tell you to stop bumping old poop, so you're trying to get someone else to do it for you?

Everybody knows you're full of poop. Evidence is right in the screenshots... and if you knew anything about web design, you'd know why your stupid lies are as obvious as they are.

So, Karlsson has moved down onto the players bench to watch the drill. No skates yet. But getting closer to the ice.

I am pumped for new season. Convinced Karlsson will have his best season ever.

Hes a fantastic player and so fun to watch. Sens will need him sooner than later but when he comes back its going to be a huge boost. Probably jolt the team into a hot winning streak.

Duchene has been treated badly by the Avs for more than a year. Team that gets him will have a guy with something to prove. EVery team should have some interest at the right price.
- spatso

something is up. duchene will be a beast offensively. there is no way you can look at the point totals of Mackinnon duchene and landeskog and simply accept its all their fault. that trio right there should have had the same or more points as matthews marner nylander given theyre more in their prime. are they all busts? i find that hard to believe.

Good for you. Has no real relevance to my question, but I assume most decent people support that decision.

If Lupul is healthy he should play the 15 games before his next injury.

I think you miss the point. Lupul has made comments that shake the very foundation of actuarial models. The paramount assumption around insurance rates is that long term disability is paid out for legitimate injury situations. Lupul's comments undermines the confidence of insurers. He implied the Leafs were using an injury excuse to help work around budgetary limitations, and, more important, he was not injured and ready to play.

It is totally irrelevant to the discussion if the Leafs or the insurance company is picking up the final cost of Lupus's proportioned disability payments. Indeed, if the team, rather than the insurance pool, is picking up the cost it becomes even more problematic.

Lupul just added to the disbelief that was already being expressed around the manner that Chicago has dealt with the Hossa situation.

Not sure if the disability fund is a registered insurance pool in the state of New York. If it is, the league is likely concerned about the New York State Commissioner of Insurance and the potential that the league (not the Leafs) have enabled insurance fraud.

I don't think we will hear much more about this situation as guidelines will obviously become much more strict (Lupul, Hossa, Marleau). It will get settled in the back rooms. But, I can assure you that there are some league heavyweights that are reminding Lamerello of how he has screwed up before when trying to be too cute by half. I think last time it cost him a first round draft pick.

I am not saying Lamerello did anything wrong. I think he may have just been the wrong guy in the wrong place and after the Hossa situation nobody could avoid the Lupul comments.

I think it all gets settled in back rooms. But, the idea that Hossa or any other player can walk away from the last few years of a contract due to questionable injury claims is coming to an end.

Lupul posted a photo on Instagram on Sunday of what appeared to be him snowboarding, with the comments, "Haha failed physical? They cheat, everyone lets them," and "I'm ready.. Just awaiting the call."

This is not good.

Anybody who has operated a small business or managed a large organization are cringing at the exposure this comment creates for the league (more than the Leafs).

They will fix it. They know that any attempt to cover it over will only grow the problem. As I said before, I think this is more about Hossa than it is about Lupul.

Leafs never dipped into Lupul’s LTIR space, and had a doctor say that he wasn’t healthy enough to play.

Look at the situation, you really have two scenarios- 1) the Leafs got a doctor to risk his practice by lying about the wellbeing of a player, and convinced said player to not make any official complaint(in which case the player is complicit) all to just not play him, which they could have done either way

or

2) the player shouldn’t be playing, and was venting on social media.

Which is more likely to you?

The league is looking into this to cover their bases. If this was about Hossa, the league would be looking into Hossa.

I mean, it is strange that a player was cleared to play in the playoffs (when they receive no salary) and hasn't been cleared to play in the regular season (when they do receive a salary).

I will say again. I don't think this is about Lupul as much as it is about Hossa. I think the league was already investigating the Hawks trying to place Hossa on LTIR because of a severe flare up in his acne.

There is no way you can let the Lupul comments pass when there is already so much anger already in place over the issue.

One of the things you always tell employees going on long term disability is not to make public statements on the overall health and well being. The L part of disability almost always means independent medical evaluation.

I think MacArthur will get reviewed in a revised process.

It is actually a worse case scenario if they did not claim the money. It would suggest they knew he was not actually injured. But, not all players are insured and it is also possible that Lupul was not included on the Leaf list of insured players.

Or it could suggest that his salary wasn’t worth affecting their premiums. And in any case, if there is no insurance problem, and they didn’t use his LTIR space... what have they done wrong?
