He was the GM of a poopty team?
I mean I guess he has to get some credit for being able to suck

But if you look at his moves as a whole.. I dont think he is one of the best..closer to the bottom imo

Seeing spatso post about being a leaf fan and then walking away from them reminds me of the story of the dude who was dating a much hotter chick, way out of his league, and he dumped her for something really petty. He tried to put on a brave face, he pretends he doesn't still have feelings for her but when he's alone at night he cries himself to sleep. He can't bring himself to admit he made a mistake, even though all he does is think about her.....and he can't stand the new bucktoothed pig he's with now.

This should be his theme song. The lyrics are dead on.

Spatso and his Sens love reminds me of the movie Shallow Hal.

The boys are getting close to lacing on the blades. First exhibition game coming up this weekend. I think the Sens are going to give lots of ice time to the young guys.

White and Logan Brown up front. Much bigger challenges in sorting through Dmen. I expect Chabot gets to play every exhibition game. I think Harpur sticks through to begin the regular season in Ottawa. Both England and Jaros are close to having NHL ready games.

Duh, Chabot is #3 on best prospect list. 4 Sens on the list. 0 Leafs. But what matters is the Sens went to the ECF. The Leafs did not.

Score 1 for me Score 0 for you.

- spatso

The Leafs actually have a future, whereas the Sens are free falling.

Score 1, Leafs. Score minus next 10 years, Sens.

At the time I thought White was a great pick by the Sens but he's done nothing to keep my praise for him. Still a truly terrible trade for the Sabres, though.

And Logan Brown is hot garbage. He was irrelevant in the Memorial Cup run for the Spitfires, and was useless in the rookie tournament game against the Leafs.

White is a solid player. He was really strong at the WJC and he was especially effective in his play in the gold medal game against Canada.

I wonder about Brown. Scouts love him. Big man, good skater with great hands and a very strong ice awareness. But he seems to get hurt too easily.

In the rookie tournament he was strong against Montreal and did not show much in the game where the Sens defeated the Leafs.

I thought Chlapik, also on the top prospects list had a stronger game than Brown. Chaplik was named 1st star.

Only a Leaf fan would describe a trip to the ECF as a free fall. Outcomes matter. Every summer Has produced a great Leaf champion for the upcoming season. This summer is the same.

Literally not one fan here has awarded the Leafs a championship.

but they have a better chance than the Sens, according to a lot more people than just on this thread.

Sorry you look like an ass for your past decisions, and your current comments.

When someone is desperate - they tend to clutch at sh!t. The prospects you are bringing up are mid-level at best. One thing to consider about Sens prospects moving forward is that Ottawa is the oldest team in the NHL Average age 29.626 years.

Here is what the hockey writers say about the Leafs prospect pool.

While the Toronto Maple Leafs do, in fact, possess a strong farm system, the team’s fall in this year’s ranking is due to the graduation of their elite young players to the NHL. Ranked third in 2016, the ascension of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander to the NHL has weakened the Leafs’ farm system, although a wealth of promising young players remain.

They rated #9 out of 31
Now here's what they say about the Sens
While Ottawa possesses a number of notable youngsters, their prospect cupboard is relatively thin and is not strong at every position on the ice. Of course, Thomas Chabot is a star in the making on defence and both Colin White and Logan Brown will be lethal offensively, however, the Senators lack a legitimate goaltending prospect following the departure of Matt O’Connor.

I think thats great and gets him some extra time as Sens GM because I dont think he is very good either.
He just doesnt come off as a foward thinking GM and too old school for my liking.
Dellow wrote a piece on the Sens with some quotes from him on Boro..whatever his name is

Its interesting the divide between the GMs thinking and his own stats people

Dont know who can read it but here is some

So funny if you read the descriptions they don't even relate to the rankings. Ottawa prospects conjur up words like star in the making for Chabot and lethal forwards for White and Brown. They then say the Leafs really don't have anybody left in their system.

If you read the actual descriptions than look at the rankings you can get an insight into how the media is complicit in raising expectations of Leaf fans every year only to see them crushed once the play for real begins.

In the TSN rankings of prospects not a single Leaf prospect makes the cut. Ottawa is listed with 4 top prospects.
