That's simply not true. Most hockey fans, Canadian and American, enjoyed none of the Sens because they played exceptionally boring hockey.

You watch other series where it's fast paced nonstop action, and then the Sens come on and you're bored to death.

Hell. Even all Sens fans didn't like it, seeing as how they couldn't even sell out playoff games. That's why they're removing 1500 seats. To try and be less of an embarrassment.

How far is it from downtown Ottawa to their Rink ?

I honestly don't know. I know it's a good distance, though.

I see 30 Kms... Not even close. Big issue.

During the dog days of the season, yeah. That kind of distance could be a barrier. But in the playoffs? And the ECF? Nah. There's no excuse.

That's almost the same distance from Scarborough to downtown.
EDIT: And people come from a heck of a lot further than Scarborough for Leafs games.

I looked just because I was curious and it says that it's 22.5 KM's from Downtown Ottawa. That's actually closer than Scarborough is to Downtown Toronto. And it's straight highway there, so time-wise, it's a half hour faster. haha

Hey guys, is everyone done having their early morning conversations with their imaginary sky daddy yet? I know it is always so insightful and fulfilling but I want to continue with all the dynasty talk we enjoy in here every day since the Leafs made the playoffs.

I really think the 8 year 65 million dollar contract they handed to Shattenkirk and the additions of hardened veterans like Jagr and Markov should really solidify the lineup and we should really get on top of planning the parade. The only question remaining is do we use the same route every year or should we mix it up? Parade planning talk is an integral part of dynasty talk which has been the dominant theme of this thread since the Leafs made the playoffs last year.

Just wondering,,,,,, what in the absolute (frank) have the Sens won in the past 50 years???

You ramble on like your team is the current Cup winner...

- bixll

So if your team, or any other team, does not win the Cup after a season and playoffs are done ............... how do you, measure the success of your team compared to another?

Or is it just one team is the best (Cup winner) and all other teams are equal losers?

I was just in Nashville a couple of weeks ago. You can stagger out of one of the bars downtown and stagger right into their rink.. Right on their Main Drag. Excellent location.

I'm having a hard time visualizing that distance. Could you give it to me in terms of how many empty seats that would be lined up end to end please? Is it more or fewer than 1500?

Watch him. He is not good in his own end. Nor is Liljegrin right now. They hand the puck to the other team. The other team skates around them for quality scoring opportunities.

Karlsson is an excellent rover. Best in the league. Doesn't mean he's infallible. And his shortcoming is clearly and obviously, defense.

Seriously, bud? You try to chrip me for not responding after an hour? Get a life. I got other poop to do than talk on here all day. Meanwhile, you've been called out literal hundreds of times in this blog and always sidestep your retardism and say another moronic thing instead.

- GreatGigInTheSky

So how do you explain his plus 10 rating, his second overall in blocked shots among d men?

At the end of the season, I think there is only one winner. The rest are just gearing up for next year.

But if making it farther in the playoffs makes you feel bigger and stronger,, get at it.

I am far to old to get in any pissin contest, nor care to.

Now this is a step up. Well done!

Most of the Leaf posters on this thread are limited to name calling as their foundational reasoning.

- spatso

They don't understand that when they call other teams fans names, use vulgarity etc ..............it's positive proof that they're frustrated by the fact that the Sens have been the better of the two Ontario teams, since the lockout 12 years ago.

They cannot logically debate otherwise, and they can't say anything positive about the Sens, because somehow that'll betray their team or something, so they insult Sens fans, mock them or whatever .................... it's like water off a duck back, and a waste of keystrokes ...............

If and when the roles are reversed, I guarantee you'll never see the same, low bar behavior from Senator fans.

- D0PPELGANGER

Plus/minus is useless. As for blocked shots? That's a byproduct of the system that the Ottawa coach implements. Where every player on the ice collapses in front of the goalie trying to make it as hard as possible to get a shot on goal.

It also means that Karlsson spent a lot of time in his own end. Not the mark of good defense.

Not a half an hour during "rush hour".......... closer to an hour. If you lived here, you'd know that.

How long would it take to drive from the Scarborough Town Centre to the ACC at 5:30 after work?

A lot longer than an hour. So thanks for proving my point that it's easier to get to games in Kanata from Ottawa than from Scarborough to the ACC.

No excuse for empty playoff seats.

There is a good reason why the current Arena is located where it is.

When Terrace Investments submitted their Bid to the NHL, for an expansion franchise, it needed to meet a number of requirements......... which included an "NHL" sized Arena, or plans to build one within 5 years........ so Terrace Investments owned the land, where the Arena currently sits .......... and after inquiring with the NCC purchasing land closer to the down down core, they had no other choice but to include their Kanata land in their bid, as they did not have the money to purchase land anywhere near the downtown core.

Without the requirement of owning the land where a New "NHL" sized Arena would be build, they would never have be awarded the franchise.

Are you assuming that the market place in toronto (6 plus Million) is the same as the Ottawa market place (900K)?

No. I'm assuming that Sens fans wouldn't care about minimal traveling distances if the on ice product was worth traveling for and paying money to see.

yes toronto does in fact have more fans, lots of which travel more than an hour to see games.

so arena distance is a non issue. lack of fans is an issue in ottawa.
