Anyone who knocks Karlsson for any reason is a complete idiot. phenomenal talent, so exciting and fun to watch. Only sens player ive ever been jealous of.
- systemtool

Well let's not forget the whole three musketeers look he has going on. But I agree that to knock anything about his on ice performance would be uninformed at best.

What would truly be idiotic would be to knock a guy about his age when the player in question put up more goals last season than the highest paid player on the team the critic cheers for had total points. That is the gold standard of stupid around here.

The Sens rookies score 3 unanswered goals in the third period and Max Lajoie ended it in the shootout to finish the Rookie Tournament 2-0.

Still hate the shootout.

Was it something on the TSN website? If so it was likely about the 8 year 65 million dollar contract that Shattenkirk signed with the Leafs. Bet you felt pretty silly after reading it.

Please explain what stats you're using to make the claim that Karlsson is "bad defensively" .......... and where he ranks defensively, compared to other offensive type D men in the NHL.

Thanks

Losing is part of the Leaf culture.

Losing is a way for some sports franchises.

Need to see if last year was just another year of Leaf hype or if they can become a serious contender.

How many years ago did the Leafs collapse in the playoff game against Boston?

I think Leaf fans are about to discover some of the "fail" moments the Oilers have known over the transition years.

Bitterness takes root in resentment. Resentment is always the product of hurt, some form of emotional wounding. People who display outward anger, especially contempt, are just trying to avoid absorbing more hurt.

I have no desire to add to your hurt. But, you need to know, your outward bitterness suggests unresolved patterns of betrayal, perhaps abandonment.

You need to be very careful not to use mood altering substances to try and repair ot alter your sad feelings.

so much angst.

Get new friends and family, and plastic surgery, and then buy some Leafs paraphernalia and pretend you were a fan all along. Nobody will know, except people here, so just delete your account.

Don't be silly! +/- only matters when the player is a Leaf, and the number is a negative.

It's funny that the Sens were also the only team in the playoffs with a negative goal differential over the season. It's like that line-up isn't very good or something.

Oh well, I'm sure the terrible goalscoring ability and awful possession stats won't hold them back this year. Totally sustainable way to play the game!

Really. So naive in understanding the ways of the hockey Gods. They are incredibly capricious and are known to punish hubris.

Were you guys able to give away Phaneuf or Ryan at 50% retained for a ham sandwish yet? Mustard packet? lint ball??

How is that 22+ million in all your terrible salary going to work for you when you need to re-sign Karlsson.

May be best if you bench him for most of the season so you guys can afford him.

they'll be able to afford karlsson. won't be able to afford any other star players to play with him but that's ok, all recent cup winners managed to win with only one star player anyway.

every cup winning team is led by one star player, who is a defenseman, who is a career -, who has never met his goalie.

I find it hilarious that we were asked...

- D'Oops

and then we get chirped as if a Sens fan just scored some major point in this poopstorm that we could not possibly hope to refute.

So I picked one stat, and all the best Dmen I could think of, over their whole careers, and it just so happens he was the only -'ve in the group.

... let's just ignore it, since it doesn't fit some people's narratives.

Agreed.

There is no reason to believe Karlsson won't re-sign.

The problem is that the other expensive players are not improving in the next 3 years. The goalie isn't going to get better, or even be there, the core is aging and the good players are also due for raises and the team can't even sell out a playoff game and seats are now being taken out of the arena.

at this point its more when than it is if.

mostly depends on how long Karlsson alone can carry them. I think Karlsson can win a cup if he wants to. But i dont think he would want to leave Ottawa to do it.
