yep. that's true. i dont care about a Calder trophy. but i sure find it funny that the leafs took home more trophies than the turds after so many turds fans yapping about karlson taking home Brent burns' Norris trophy for months. among other things.

So true. Leafs have had a great summer of blue and whites summer talk and now that the players are on the ice they disappear, Nothing changes.

Here we go again....it is preseason and results are not very important but they are finally on the ice and scoreboard once again begins to count as the primary measure of performance. Don't look now but the beginning of December is only 8 weeks away.

In terms of measuring team success, yes.

The rest of these are for fun, and after hearing you spastos go on about how Karlsson was a lock, well... it makes it even more fun.

please quote the post I made, that says Karllson was "a lock"

I wonder if he still thinks thatvthis was karlson's best season ever. kind of funny that Burns was better. in karlsons best season ever.

If you were the leafs GM, and were offered either Karlsson or Burns, for free, which one would you take?

I have to agree here

Grant McCagg‏ @grantmccagg
Ottawa under Dorion
Move up 1 spot for Brown - give up a 2nd
Draft Dahlen - trade him for Burrows
2017 3rd for Stalberg
Nothing for Methot

Grant McCagg‏ @grantmccagg
Zibanejad for Brassard
Condon for a 4th (good deal)
Not sure his moves warranted GM of the Year nominee IMO

Yep.
Not impressed with the work of GMGM.
I imagine there are more trades for futures coming today.
Unless they corner the market on russians that roster looks to be brutal.
I'm hoping they sign Radulov, Dadanov, and trade for Kovalchuk.

You cut too easily.

Bleeders tend to spend too much time worrying about their wounds.

No need to fight last summer's battles. You heal faster if you just press forward and stop festering around the past beatings. Treat old news like old news. Don't give it so much power over how you feel about others and yourself.

Stanley Cup playoffs was great example of the Zibanejad trade. When the Sens played the Rangers Zbad was a no show. He looks great in spurts but never puts it together when it really matters (except for the golden goal in the WJC).

Brassard was really strong in playoffs until he injured labrum.

From the NY Daily News:

TURNING POINT

The tying goal by Derick Brassard with 1:26 left in regulation, another late lead blown by the Rangers, the second time in the series and the third time in the playoffs they’ve given up a tying goal in a 6-on-5 situation.

Not sure but I think that was the play where Karlsson made the fabulous pass after dancing all across the blue line before curling towards the net and passing to Brassard. Magical.
