Spatso is in church right now. Praying. He's asking God to give him power to troll the Leaf fans.

I have this feeling LV is going to try too hard for picks and pass up on good players, actual good deals and fail to develop all their picks properly. Not that it matters to me but they seem like they're in a prime position but are being rushed and will make bonehead decisions trying to get everything done within a week. When the GM is tweeting about a meeting with another GM at 1130 pm and 430am he's not only deprived of sleep to keep his mind refreshed but he also comes across as frantic. Never a suitable condition for making big decisions.

Could be. But, I think the deal was agreed on before the list was made up. So, if you look at what other teams appear to be doing MacArthur might be the most likely choice. I did not think of it until I saw a few mock drafts with MacArthur on it as the pick. I wondered, where is this coming from?

I think Colin White takes MacArthur's place in the rotation and if If MacArthur is about to retire (a story being floated) he is actually a pretty good cap pick for LV.

Comments going around that Methot is a good player but he is far less of a player than people think when he is not paired with Karlsson. I thought the Sens should keep Methot and put Dzingle and other forwards on the non protected list (4+4+1).

We are hearing that Dorion is not even trying to negotiate any deal to keep Methot and encouraging LV to make their choice from who is available.

Curios.

how are the negotiations going?

Why on earth would Vegas want to pick a guy who's rumoured to be retiring?

Sens want to keep dion, ask him to weave mnc

Sens want to keep methot, expose him in draft and don't negotiate deal to protect him.

Someone tell spatso they're doing it wrong.

I doubt they're as rushed as you may think. They've probably got lists on priorities, just like teams going into the entry draft. They've probably worked on them for months. And probably have many what if scenarios figured out.

I think they've clearly got a bit of strategy worked out too, based on McPhee's comments about having a surplus of dmen, and will be looking to deal them.

it may happen pretty quickly, but it's also the culmination of months of work on their behalf. And the frantic nature of their trades is true for both them and the other 30 teams. the other 30 GMs only saw what may be available 48 hours ago as well. (that said, those other 30 GMs would be more focused on one single GM).

I don't think the 48 hour timeframe will impact too much.

fixed.

dorion was sitting around thinking of ideas but not doing anything. took him 47 hours to pull his head out of his ass.

Basically nonis level GM’ing. Letting the process manage him vs. managing the process.

Mcphee crushed the draft. He created vegas as the hub for all deals and will end up with a poopload of picks and prospects.

If the leaked deals are correct I think GMGM is doing a terrible job.

Leafs probably losing Lipstick ..not happy to lose him, as I think he is an NHL player and probably one of those under rated decent players who just goes about his business. But its not a huge loss

The worst case scenario was that teams trade all the good players among themselves leaving scraps for mcphee to take.

He completely stopped that. Every deal is going through vegas. He’ll be loading up on picks and prospects. Vegas will be set in 4-5 years.

Trades before lists would just expose other assets.
Only a limited number of protection slots throughout league.

Haula and Tuch instead of Dumba?
Theodore and Stoner instead of Vats or Manson?

Grabo and 15th instead of 'insert name here'?

i bet they'll get a few more assets from those.

but anaheim could have easily bought out bieksa and traded vatanen leaving the GN's with poop. so getting theordore (probably plus) over poop is a huge win.

minny and isles were probably the 2 teams that would have a hard time trading out.

but watch for a poop load of assets combined from 6-7 other teams.

The rumoured "deals" I've seen that Ottawa was offered, to keep Methot, were way to high of an asking price to pay.

I've read that LV would select Claesson (instead of Methot), and would also receive the Sens 2017 1st round pick and Filip Chlapik

The other deal was to select Borowiecki (instead of Methot), and would get the 47th pick overall and Colin White

dorion (frank)ed himself by not managing the phaneuf situation.

pitts had fleury waive his nmc in Feb. FEBRUARY. dorion asks phanuef 5 days before the draft. 5 (frank)ing days.

he needed to secure a deal before the trade freeze. he didn't and had to bid against other teams for his own player.
