is this the List you are talking about?

TSN top prospects list
http://www.tsn.ca/live/ta...ating-in-the-nhl-1.677389

For the Leafs top 5 he has Neilson as the Leafs best Prospect and doesnt even list Dermott. At this point (and in feb) Dermott is the better prospect and closer to the NHL by all accounts

I also find it hard to believe Kapenen is not in the top 50 anywhere.

Yes, this is the list. You are correct, no Leafs made it.

At this time of the year it is about the draft and prospects. Not unusual for us to talk about it, especially after the Sens had their fabulous run in the playoffs.
- spatso

what does a playoff run have to do with picks and prospects? but I guess having 4 picks this draft has you pumped. But don't worry. Leafs will help you guys by using your 2nd round pick.

At this point it's pretty clear that it's the SENS.

Lock the thread, it's over.

Did you know Leafs had 3 of the 4 top scoring rookies last year? But that's not as prevalent as making a list.

History, old news.

This is the time for prospects and the draft.

And, of course, trophy awards and reflections on the amazing playoffs.

No Leafs on the list. Also, when you look at the Leaf protection list for the expansion draft there is nothing there. Indication of just how thin Leaf talent is.

how is it old news? Matthews is up for rookie of the Year.

Calm down spatso. it will be okay. take a breath. go to church. say a prayer. then troll us again from there.

And if the Leafs rookie performances are old news, then so too is the sens playoffs. try to tone down how shaken and triggered you are. you'll make more sense

Ottawa has 4 out of the 50 players on the TSN top prospects list.

Chabot is rated #3 overall and is the top ranked Dman.

Next year Ottawa adds a minimum of 3 rookies.

Both Chabot and Harpur will get minutes on D and Colin White should have top 6 minutes by the end of the season.

However, the draft is important. You do not want to go too many years giving up your top draft picks.

- spatso

If Colin White is playing top six minutes, by the end of the season, then there would have to be a couple of injuries in the top six.

I don't see him even starting the season in Ottawa, if everyone else is healthy. He should start the season in the AHL, and work his way up to the NHL.

If he does make his way the the Senators roster, he'll play bottom six and perhaps the PK at most.

As for Chabot, Ottawa already has enough NHL experienced Defense men, even if they lose one to LV............ so He too should be Belleville bound to start his pro career.

Rookies rarely step directly from Junior or College and right into a NHL lineup.......... no matter how good you project them to be................. there are rare exceptions Like Eichel & McDavid for example ............

Don't get to far ahead of yourself .......... perhaps it's an instinctual habit you still suffer from when you were a leaf fan.

Usually when a rookie with a good offensive game gets sent down to the minors it is to learn how to play defence. However, in the case of White he is already a fine defensive player and can kill penalties as well. I think he takes a regular line up shift before Christmas

What are you basing this on? He has not played enough, at the NHL to demonstrate his ability to play defence at the NHL level.

Playing College hockey and the WJC is not the same as playing in the NHL ............. there is absolutely no reason to rush him into the NHL .......... plus who do you think he displaces from the Senator's lineup, if as you suggest he wins a regular spot?

Buddy, you've demonstrated an ability to overrate prospects in the past ............... but have not learned that you're setting yourself up for the Trollonto fans here to point these mistakes out, at some point down the road.

Do you not remember when you claimed Shane Prince was the "steal of the 2011 draft"?

I Do!

The sens were loaded with prospects then all waiting to make the jump, 4 or 5 rookies all at once

I don't think the leafs rookies this past season suffered from having spent time in the AHL ....... and Ottawa has burned a couple of rookies already by not sending them down to the AHL for a long enough time to develop, or become "over-ripe" as PM likes to say on TGOR on this issue.
