None of the above. It doesn't say the eclipse has to occur in the same place.

Well, if you assume the moons are on the same plane, and the aliens don't mind travelling... 13 months should be about the time.

Starting at 0(assuming year 0 is an eclipse) the next one would happen 13 months in, the next 26 months, the next 39 months in, and so on.

I misread. Thought the outer moon was the one orbiting every 12 months.

Not gonna lie, I thought I would have done better. Not sure what question I got wrong...

Also, vocabulary is not a measure of IQ

That was a hard one

144/11 months
The amount of time the red moon must travel for can be broken down into two parts:

the amount of time needed to complete one orbit
the additional amount of time needed to cover the distance achieved by the white moon

The amount of time it would take the red moon to orbit the planet once would be twelve months. The amount of time it would take the red moon to cover the distance achieved by the white moon would be one twelfth of the time it took the white moon to do this, thus t/12.
As the white moon and the red moon will in fact have travelled for the same amount of time (just at different speeds), the time the red moon travels for (12 mos. + t/12) will be equal to the amount of time (t) for which the white moon has traveled. Thus we get the equation:

12 mos. + t/12 = t

Solving for t, we get: 144/11 (or 13.090909...) months.

.

On the planet of Elixidir, there are two moons which orbit it. One is red and the other is white. The red one is closer to the planet, and it orbits the planet at twelve times the rate of the white one (but in the same direction). The Elixidirs enjoy watching eclipses of the white moon, much as humans enjoy watching eclipses of their sun. The total time it takes for the red moon to orbit the planet once is twelve months. How long (precisely) must the Elixidirs wait in between each eclipse before they can observe another one?

13 months

13.25 months

Nobody would moon you on the 401 in Toronto. Sure it'd be funny at first. But it gets awkward over the next half hour of sitting beside each other in traffic.

I was walking downtown, new years eve, and right in yonge and dundas square, with cars barely moving, this girl was riding a guy in the back seat with the lights on. Tits out and everything. Bouncing all over the place.

It was magical.

You notice how spazzo has completely dropped off the face of the earth, and refuses to post in any thread where he's chirped about the Leafs in the past? What a chump. I even egghim on, he absolutely won't show his face. Little does he know that only makes us happier.....

To be fair, the Sens finally found themselves, however temporarily, in a playoff position, and only yourself and Prock have said ANYTHING here. But the day is young and you'll probably be proven correct...

wow, I didn't realize the other wild card teams fell off the map that far

If Ottawa beats the Leafs on Saturday, things could get interesting!

If Bobby Ryan chucks Kessel into the boards then proceeds to score the game winning goal I'm buying a dang jersey.
