poor systemtool............it must be rough man, having so little going on in your life that you have time to go back through 4 years and 400 pages of posts.

and I have NO DOUBT that there are no outrageous, idiotic, or mistaken posts by any leaf fans.............you guys are always right about everything and never make outlandish claims. I mean if history has shown us anything it's that the world of hockey never changes, if players are good one day they're guaranteed to be just as good or better 3 years later......there is no progression or regression in hockey.

After reading these last 3 pages, seriously how the (frank) do people claim Leafs fans are the most "out to lunch". Those quotes from Spats and Dopps are so wide of the mark, it's hard to fathom. Claiming Lazar is better than Nylander?

I know right? Now imagine if Ottawa had BOTH players. That, Spatso, would be unbelievable.

On a serious note, check some of these comments about the Schenn for JVR deal.

Unpossible. He's untouchable. Had the Sens just waited 18 months, they would've been rid of this complete mess

He's not even remotely close though. We all make mistakes and predict things that go wrong, but my God, he's not even in the same ball park.

Pageau - Giroux
Lazar - Bergeron
Turris - Toews
Cowen will be good
We can only hope Matthews is as good a Yakupov
Matthews could probably spend time in the AHL
Phases
Bobby Ryan will most likely get traded because he's good in the community

The list goes on and on

What do you mean IF ?

The NHL has stepped in to rescue the leafs from themselves, starting with sending Shanahan in from head office to take over the team from the incompetent circus that has been running the team for the last decade. The NHL is going to Fix the lottery to allow the leafs to select first, and will also facilitate the move of Babcock from Detroit to toronto.

The NHL has had enough for the freakshow that the leaf have become and short of taking control of the team officially, they're pulling the strings behind the scene to bring the leaf back to at least a NHL calibre team.

that's fine, I'm just pointing out that Tavares wasn't really an option and, technically, was part of the NHL fold, since he was drafted, while the others where not.

Also, I don't htink the Sens have a brighter future in net... Gustavsson has been phenomenal in the latter part of the season, despite his last performance... and we also have Reimer who's put up excellent numbers on a terrible Marlies team.

- Feeling Glucky?

i see alot of holes in kessels game... but even taking cap, age, potential, and just comparing skill... its still kessel any day of the week
- nightmare3020

Kessel IS a key building block. No one seems to understand that.
- RogerRoeper

The funny part is, Franson put up more points last year on D than all but 4 Sens FORWARDS.... He's a better offensive player than most of the Sens FORWARDS. LOL. Their roster is so completely devoid of any talent, Franson would be a top 6 FORWARD on the Sens.
- prock

"Tanking" is relying too much on luck. Pittsburgh getting Crosby and Malkin was an incredible amount of luck. Even losing the Ovechkin draft and getting Malkin instead was such a huge break. I hate when people say teams should "Tank" like the Pens. You could try 1000 times and not replicate their success in the draft.

Rnh, Hall, and Yakupov and really nice players. But as 1st overalls? Might not have been the best years to tank.

Why isn't Florida better? Columbus? Atlanta/Winnipeg? People always ignore the teams where tanking has not worked.

Boston did not tank. They built through trades, UFA signings and great second round drafting.

nobody is claiming it now........he spent his time going through posts from 2-3 years ago. like I said, lots of stuff looks dumb with 3 years of hindsight. how many posts would we find from leaf fans saying that acquiring Clarkson was a huge move for the franchise........

except that most projections had lazar ranked as a top 5 prospect (not currently playing in the NHL).........he obviously hasn't lived up to the expectation but it doesn't change the fact that at the time those statements were made he was one of the highest ranked prospects in the league.

Can you provide a source for that? I feel like I hear this kind of crap all the time.

A quick google finds this. Here is the Bleacher report. They have him at 19 going into the 2014/15 season.

http://bleacherreport.com...ects-after-the-2014-draft

That would be around his peak as a prospect wouldn't it?

I feel like people of your ilk do this alot. I don't think Lazar was really anywhere close to a top 5 NHL prospect. You did this with him, and probably think your current prospects are top 5 too.

edit -
NHL.com has 16.
