The NHL and Rodgers are separate entities. Where in my tongue in cheek, speculative theory, did I mention Rodgers?

Did not think anyone, besides the most gullible, would take me serious, but there's always the exception to the rule I guess.

Very hard to tell with you when you're being serious and when you're trying to be tongue in cheek. I suppose I should assume the less idiotic posts are meant to be the latter?

Fact of the matter is the leafs TV rating have tanked worse than the team has (if that's possible) and will impact the leafs bottom line, something you covet so highly.

You're always going on and on about how much (of the fans) money the leafs owners make, and somehow you foolishly think that's something that matters.

The leafs ownership have raked in millions of their fans hard earned dollars for decades now, and have failed to deliver a product that has failed to make it to the Stanley Cup finals in almost 50 years.

I wish the Leaf's ownership would get their poop together and invest the money they're raking in from fans into their extended Bahamas vacation, rather than putting it back into the team.

THAT'LL BUILD A WINNER!

PS- an impact to the bottom line is exactly what many believe will force the Leafs to do a serious rebuild... which is what is happening. Interesting.

Losing the starting goalie has no influence on the team!

I mean, look what Tokarski did for the Habs vs Arizona.

- Feeling Glucky?

Ottawa lost both of their goaltenders, and have been playing with their AHL goaltender for a little while now.

Losing Bernier had an influence, as he was covering up some of the leafs shortcomings, and they became exposed when he was out of the line up.

Ottawa losing both of their goaltenders only has shown the system implemented by the new coach was sound and solid, no matter who was the goaltender, and with so many of their experienced veterans out of the line up, showed the depth of the organization.

I agree 100%, the "actions" of the Senators over the past three months have shown giant leap forward in their re-build and have put themselves into the playoff mix.

Will they make the playoffs? I don't think so, and the Bruins showed last night why their veteran laden lineup will keep the wins going until they eliminate the Senators. Ottawa is running out of race track, and all those one goal losses in the first six weeks of the season are now coming back to haunt them.

Ottawa is the only team in the NHL that has not been shut out this season, but they've struggled to score goals in the first part of the season, and if they could have tied a few games in regulation, they would probably have a few more point today than they have.

Ignoring the improvements that Cameron has made in the system the Senators play would be foolish.

As of today........after 77 games last season the Senators had 33 wins, 8 in OT and 14 loser points for a total of 78 points., this season, after the same number of games they have 39 wins, 11 in OT and 12 loser points for a total of 90 points.

That's Plus 12 points this season

As of today........after 78 games last season the leafs had 38 wins, 14 in OT and 8 loser points for a total of 84 points., this season, after the same number of games they have 29 wins, 7 in OT and 6 loser points for a total of 64 points.

That's Minus 20 points this season.

That's if my math is correct

Losing both their goaltenders showed they had a goalie who could come in hot, and give a false sense of competition.

The Sens have a bad habit of playing down to the level of the crap teams in the NHL.

But I guess the leafs are doing well in their imaginary 7 game playoff series, that the commentators couldn't stop talking about last night.

I guess in lieu of playing any real meaningful games, or games that matter, they are now pretending to play some games as if they're in a series.

How sad.

Sorry my friend, but every game since the All Star break has meant something. They managed to get themselves into a playoff spot for a few days, and with three more wins, and one of three teams playing .500 P% they could actually squeak in, but the odds of that happening are not great.

But Fans of the Senators have been watching extremely entertaining and competitive games for the last 25 games of so, instead of the loafers you've been watching.

So yeah, two losses against the Leafs this week.

Playing a playoff series, right?

You guys are going to have to stop playing like you're in a playoff series against the Leafs.

The two games ended in a tie, and the leafs won a skills competition both times.

How many games left in the leafs pretend seven game series?

Maple Leafs take early 'series' lead
Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment won’t be able to mark up the ticket prices, but their hockey team is at least trying to convince themselves they’re in the playoffs as the calendar approaches April.

It’s a motivational tactic by interim coach Peter Horachek to give some meaning to the final seven games. Beginning with Saturday’s match against Ottawa, Horachek told the Leafs to think of winning at least four of seven to capture the ‘series’.

Very crafty of him to send the memo over to the sens telling them to play like the playoffs too.

interesting article, including who 20 NHL Coaches think is the NHLs MVP, and Top Norris Candidate.

http://www.tsn.ca/end-of-...ours-and-mcdavid-1.249213

I wonder if prock will finally come around on Price and Karlsson now?

I know he thinks he knows more about NHL defensemen than 3 time Norris winner Denis Potvin, but does he also think he knows more than 20 NHL head coaches?
