No he isn't but I think you missed the point.

Well you pointed out giving up seguin and Hamilton for kessel. Tarasenko was a sens pick that they parlayed into turris. Same thing, except kessel is country miles better, and for that there was a higher price, Hamilton.

I'm confused. First you acknowledged the fail that is your team, now you seem to be defending it?

This is not an impressive list. One of the worst in the NHL.

Sorry, but that Ottawa pick was used to pick Rundblad.

The picks obtained from Brian Burke were used to pick Seguin and Hamilton.

You're wrong again...............but you're trying hard to spin something to make the leafs biggest trade blunder in recent history look palatable to yourself.

Mike Hoffman leads ALL rookies in goals so far this season.

Both he and Stone are tied for third in rookie points with 33 each.

The top rookie for the leafs has 3 points.

what a joke the leafs are, have been, and will be for the foreseeable future.

I love Tarasenko. But no way Murray would have ever taken him. Murray has a reputation of not liking Russians at the draft. The idea that somehow Murray dealt Tarasenko is ludicrous.

I think you missed the point.

Ottawa has added three rookies to their roster this year. They added rookies last year. They will probably add a couple more next year. Players come from their own system. This is a very good young team that is going to be a lot better.

i did not miss the point.. a 25 year old having a break out season is not that impressive

But you have been saying this same stuff since 2011... we can go back and find the exact same quotes from you word for word.. so i take your analysis with a grain of salt

The difference between the two is that the leafs rush their prospects to the NHL, and they don't develop as expected, and then they trade them away........just like they'll do with Kadri and Nylander.

Ottawa has a long history of developing their prospects in the AHL, and bringing them up to the NHL when they're ready, and in the case of both Hoffman and Stone they are succeeding at this level too.

I know you're going to point towards Lazar, but he was not eligible to play in the AHL and he had done everything there was to do in Junior and now after leading Canada to Gold, he's done everything there is to do at the International Junior level too.

a lot of that has to do with the fact that a lot of their higher picks have been pretty bad......biggs, gauthier, finn (looked good in jr, looks really underwhelming in AHL/ECHL). percy and leivo look okay, but nothing great.

the only 2 real good prospects since 2011 are reilly and nylander. i do admit they've handled nylander really well though

that has never mattered, the leafs have always had mediocre prospects....and if they were decent they moved them (Rask, Steen etc).. but never took the time no matter the quality

Like I said this is all changing.. i get other fans like dopps live off bringing this stuff up non stop.. its more important to him than the sens actually winning.

It will take several years..but the leafs are on the right track finally

Sending Nylander back to Sweden was a mistake, he would have been better off starting the season with the marlies..............but at least they've seen the error of their ways once they saw him play at the WJC, where his glaring deficiencies playing without the puck was there for all to see.

so far it's been mostly talk. if they actually move guys like kessel, phaneuf, lupul, bozak, etc........then i'll believe they're on the right track.

the team has been big on words, and small on action for a lot of years now........once i see it, i'll believe it.

Burke wanted to do a rebuild despite saying the opposite, and a player scoring at the same pace as another player will wind up with more points... Even though he'll have played fewer games!

Do these sound like the comments of a clueless person?

having paid close attention for long enough.. i can see there is already a big difference.
i know its in the sens fans best interest if the leafs keep struggling...and they will for a while yet.

i honestly don't care one way or the other.........the leafs that i hate are all long gone. i honestly would rather have strong canadian teams in the league, rather than teams like nashville, tampa, anaheim, etc taking all the top spots......i know we're a long way from that, but i would like that better.

imagine how awesome it would be if ottawa/mtl/tor were all near the top of the conference.................the rivalries and bashing would be legendary. rather than all this "my team sucks less than yours" crap that prock and dopps have been spewing for over a year.

Condra, Greening, Hoffman, Lazar, Neil, Pageau, Zibanejad, Smith, Stone, Borowiecki, Ceci, Cowen, Gryba, Karlsson, Phillips, Wiercioch, Lehner were all drafted by the Senators.

The forwards aren't that bad (only 8 less goals than the Leafs with 3 games in hand)

A lot of those guys (especially on defence) still have years of development ahead of them. And defence is what is killing them right now. They lack experience. A lot.

It's not great.

But you can't deny the Sens are building through the draft.

That doesn't mean it'll be successful in the long run, though.

the sens dont have a lot of choice.. they cant spend top the cap..so they have to rely on picks.

But i dont see a lot of high end talent in the prospects...a few nice pieces with some upside but not much else imo
