Which is really strange because so many other Leaf posters would have found the time otherwise. I don't blame them for not posting rather I blame them for constantly bashing Sens fans when they don't post immediately following a Leafs win/Sens loss.

I'm taking a poop and this is the only time I will have to post in here in between meetings so I'll keep this short.

You really don't get the bit.

Yes, it's a failure to understand by the 3rd party fanbases that make this thread so retarded.

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

They know dire hards will put the money down now so they prop their odds. They do it with the Habs sometimes too.

Watched replay of Leafs/Sens game last night. I had not seen it before. Saturday night I was only able to listen to the radio broadcast.

You watch differently when you already know the outcome.

For the first two periods, Leaf forwards played a strong defensive game. Remember, Sens only scored goals 2 and 3 in the last few minutes of the 2nd period.

In the 3rd period the Leaf forwards came out in full offensive mode and were highly effective. But they gave up wave after wave of scoring chances to the Sens on the counter attack.

Do the Leafs put together a huge package in order to trade for a #1 D? If the Canadiens go into rebuild mode, do the Leafs pursue a deal for Shea Weber?

There are games that can be boring, when both teams are playing a defensive style......... 1 - 3 - 1, the trap or whatever ...... and both teams waiting to capitalize on the mistakes of their opponent.

Every team has to play a system, either to the strengths of the existing players, or by acquiring players that are seen as "good parts" to the existing system implemented by the coaching staff........and or a combination of the both.

leafs have drafted players with their offense/skill/ speed first system in mind, and use that system............... it may be more enjoyable to watch during the regular season, but when the playoffs begin, we all know that teams intensify their defensive side of the game, and if a team, like the Senators who play a defensive style all season, it can be an advantage ........... and we saw last spring just how far their system took them ................ all the way to games seven (double overtime) of the ECFs.

If the leafs ever find a way to play a good defensive system, in addition to their offensive tendencies .... they may well find themselves going much deeper in the playoffs than last spring.

You never really understand the Sens game until you focus on the genius of Karlsson. He begins the counter attack from the moment he touches the puck in his own end zone.

The Sens are the team of last year's playoff run. For most of the game they were able to use their speed far more efficiently than the Leafs. Karlsson had a steady game, a playoff type game for him. He had 3 points on the night.

I like the Leafs style and I don't think they should change. By playing an up tempo offensive game they take the focus off of their vulnerable D. If they go to a more defensive style they would only put more pressure on their own back end. They need a real #1 Dman or at least a solid #2 that can support Rielly.

Don't think there would be space under the Cap for Weber ........... or they would have to trade away to much in order to acquire him .................. will not happen.

I think you are correct in the specific but the principle of the general still applies. Over the next 18 months the Leafs need to lock in some big salaries up front, they may need to rejig their salary alignment to ensure they do not have a long term problem of inadequate defensive support.

Saturday night the Sens forwards shredded the Leaf defence using their speed to go around them and on several occasions to split the middle and attack the net.
