tks karine!
what contract? the entire team is already signed for next season, with the exception of wifi.
the real question is who Hughes will trade to make some room.

Pearson, White and Ylonen aren’t as for who he’ll trade that’s for another day, go to pace myself with 5 months of offseason lol

A look at the Habs player who will need a new contract.

- Karine Hains

I think this is the summer the Habs set up to be in the playoff mix for 2025/26. I would not be surprised to see a number of kids extended (likely after the draft) for a few years as they did Newhook and Dach.

There will be cap space after this year, especially if they can somehow get rid of the Anderson contract by the summer of 2025 (not sure that is possible, but who knows?!?!?) plus the "supposed" cap increases coming. I am sure the Habs will go after a big fish next summer.

But who knows, if the right player is available now, they might jump early.

with the entire team already signed, and 9M of capspace (that's counting Price, if you put him on LITR it's 19M) Hughes will have fun. and the year after he will have even more $$ to spend.

and yes beubye Pearson White and Ylonen

I dont dislike Nylander. Contrary to some here, I would take him on my team anytime. Lots of talent.

Nylander-Dach-heavy winger would be a very talented 2nd line to work with caufield-suzuki-slaf

Matthews/Tavares/Marner/Nylander get injured for 82 games and make a miraculous comeback 1st game of the playoffs

Before signing his new contract, he was actually their best contract.

Still a great player moving forward, but now he's paid like the others.

Yes, he's now likely overpaid despite being very good.

But when he was paid 6.9M per season, he truly was a great deal to have around.

Well that's not what they're saying. They're considering giving 10k a year to every children so nobody notices the sudden jump in their account.

Declaring that money would be a god damn waste and an insult to the man that died hiding it.

They still have to prove it and they usually can't go back more than 3-5 years and I doubt his 70s were his most productive years of illegal labour.

1 + 1.5 + 2 for Jackeye

Farrel and Kidney are not ready for the NHL.

Heineman is a big question mark

Yloven plays ok 4th line ok and I would rather see him play instead of the Pezz. Still a meh player that seems to have hit a wall in his developement.

As for Roy and RHP? They showed glimpse of decent hockey but Im not sure where they fit. Not good enough for top 6 and might not be 3rd/4th line material. At least we can give them more time.

As for the Ds? Would love to see Harris, Baron and Kovacevic outta here.
