Thanks NYN big win against favored playoff team. Anything can happen in playoffs. But having home ice helps. Canucks are on their way for that possibly for 2 rounds. I’d say matchups are also as important.

So if Canucks had a road map to the SCF, based on season stats and systems, I’d say the most favorable would be:

1st round: Preds
2nd round: Oilers
WCF: Stars

If they go that far that would be amazing. Just saying it’s doable. There are of course no easy games or opponents in playoffs. The 1st round will be a war either way.

Every Canucks skater registered a hit, with Podkolzin leading the way with 7, followed by Zadorov with 6.

Let's hope the Avs come out and beat Vegas tonight and lock that in.

Thanks Newbie Doo. Too bad we can't play the Oilers every game. 🧹

Quite lucky McDavid was out but full marks to Desmith. Wow he played well. Game atmosphere was decent but not PO atmosphere. Box seats were great food and booze all free!

Yeah, probably for the best. He would've got pounded last night. Oh....and suck it.

Although, it would have been nice to see Zadorov, Myers or Soucy crush him.

Nice win against a sucky Oilers team, we didn’t even have our #1 goaltender, team is ready when it matters. #playoffs

It didn't sound great during the broadcast. After the 1st period it got real quiet until Kane's goal. Even during the 3rd in a very tight game, crowd seemed nervous or tentative. The crowd had to be prompted to start a cheer. I thought the crowd would be going nuts considering the circumstance and the emotional benefit of a big oiler win.

I thought the hit totals would go way down after losing Schenn last season (most hits in 22/23) but hit totals went up considerably.

2,024 total in 22/23 - 7th best in the league
2,130 so far this 23/24 season - 4th best in the league

That's impressive.

Nice win last night.
I caught the last half of the game and was impressed by the physicality.
That Soucy hit on Kane?
Happy for DeSmith to have a good game there too.

Onto the next one and get Demko up to speed.

They throw a ton of hits, start scrums, are rough on opponents in our crease, fight and generally have each others backs.

I have NOT heard one poster all season say this team is "soft" - that's pretty shocking considering the riff raff in this thread.

what a drastic turnaround this team has pulled off

Absolutely right, but I don't really care about 'favourable' match ups - if this team is gonna win and prove themselves - it can't matter who they face, the mentality has to be "to be the best, you gotta beat the best"

Ideally - Vegas R1, Aves R2, Dallas R3 - Florida/Bruins SCF - bring it on
