How about just SHEDDING who is in charge of the power play... that would be a good start

Few of us think they well fire all of the assistant coaches again this summer like they did several seasons ago.

In Toronto, Dubas took his contract negotiations to the press and threatened to walk away, pretending to the press it was due to impact of being an NHL GM on his family, that he might not re-sign with the Leafs and take time away for his family. Shanahan saw this unexpected public venting as a veiled threat, a betrayal and axed him..and because Dubas opened the door with the press regarding the negotiation, Shanahan also went public with the details of the negotiation from his perspective. Dubas then immediately uprooted his family and moved them to Pittsburgh as soon as the Pens came calling. Must be less stressful to be a GM in Pittsburgh? Sorry...President and GM.

It sounds like Dubas made a play for the top job, didnt get it, and left to take the top job somewhere else? He didnt go out the door kicking and screaming or make a big deal out of it.

I dont get why Toronto fans are so salty about him all of these months later.

I accepted Sullivan isn’t getting canned but if Rierden is back next year I’m gonna lose it

I don't understand it either. I was under the impression Toronto fans think they are better off without Dubas. You would think they would be thanking us for taking him off their hands.

it takes a level of genius to get yourself fired and then go-on and land a promotion

I know a lot of Leaf fans in real life, I am surrounded by them. Some of them best friends and family. Pretty much any of them that are really knowledgeable with hockey liked Dubas and most of what he did. Didnt like some moves like not signing Hyman...especially now in hindsight that he's a 40+ goal scorer, albeit playing with one of the best playmakers of all time and also that guy Draisaitl on the other wing most of this season, instead of playing with a center tracking to be one of the best goal scorers of all time....

“… it would probably have to be a mutual thing where he felt that, and I felt that way …” Translation: I don’t have the authority to fire Mike Sullivan. It’s not up to me.

Unless Dubas somehow gifts Sully another great team like JR did it’s going to be infuriating to watch another Mike Sullivan season.

JR not wanting to get into specifics about why he left the Pens- old dirty bastard.
Dubas not wanting to say his feelings about getting poop canned by Shanahan- So much respect.

Sounds like Dubas' MO. Top heavy on the top 2 lines and misuse of draft capital in trades. It's going to be a long road back in Pittsburgh.

Yeah, we're only hearing from a disgruntled few. It sure seems like it's more than normal though. Maybe it just got old fast.

Don't worry, you'll get a new coach next year. Sheldon Keefe. Bet your farm on that one, after Keefe gets fired after another poor playoff showing and Treliving uses his get out of Jail free Card and fires the Dubas hiring, Keefe. Then Dubas, hating on Toronto, will want to use Keefe to show them that he wasn't the arsonist that burned the Leafs farm system to the ground.

Seemed like last game Sully adjusted the zone exit strategy a bit. Was it an anomaly or is he trying to change to a safer more supported break out plan?

The Pens always struggle with young fast teams it'll be interesting to see if they continue the low support or revert back to their old ways.

Toronto fans are salty about everything. Have you ever met a happy TML fan? Even when their team wins in the regular season they're salty about what they know is coming in the playoffs.
