Since the Cats don’t have an AHL affiliate (weird), Cormier has been with the ECHL Florida Everblades. The 6’3”, 200 lbs goaltender is 8-6-3, with a 2.88 GAA and .906 SV%.
I wonder how Knight is doing..?

Haven’t heard a lot about how Knight is doing at AHL Charlotte.
Cormier just has to drive across Alligator Alley from Estero to sit on the bench today.

That’s a really good point about the distance for Cormier to travel, Rats.

One of the most entertaining and longest fights I ever watched in person was between Rudy Poeschek and Paul Laus during a preseason game at the old "Thunder Dome".

They battled from one end of the ice to the other and back to center. Exchanging blows almost the entire time. The refs were reluctant to intervene. Eventually they both tired out and just clutched until the officials finally stepped in. It was nuts to watch. I've never seen another fight that last that long or covered so much ice.

I expect a true battle tonight.

Thanks so much for that excellent video on Paul Laus. He was a true fighter, fist to fist no turtling or just grabbing sweaters, he fought with all his heart and soul. He gave it his all every night. He not only was the last original Panther, but he was also the heart and soul of the Panthers. I'm so glad he's finally pain-free.

That was a cool little mini-documentary. It left me wanting more. His daughter is talented and they should do a longer feature about Laus and that era in the league and with the club.

Early Lightning and Panthers history is intertwined to a degree. Florida owned the Lightning for a long time, then the tables turned for a long time again, and now it seems like Florida is back on top again.

Vasi has not been his usual self this season, and unless vintage Vasi shows up, I think Florida comes away with two points this evening. I hope I am wrong, but I'm not feeling great about this game, despite the dominant performance from Point and Kuch against NYR.

Good start for Tampa, but there is a lot of hockey left in this game.

My internet picked a bad night to start acting up.

I can't stream anything and can barely stay connected.

Sucks.

If TBL wins:

#1 Star of Game: Vasi
#2 Star of Game: Post/Crossbar

Looks like vintage Vasi showed up and stole the game. Tampa fans haven't seen much of that Vasi this season.

However, getting shelled by 50+ shots is not a recipe for success in a seven game series. They better clean that poop up before the post season (assuming they qualify).

I'll take the win, but it was an ugly one that Tampa didn't deserve. File a police report on Vasilevskiy.

Exactly! Even though the Panthers lost, it was an exciting game. Not much more the Panthers could do with all those shots on the net.
