Seems like the return Pitts got for Guentzel was underwhelming to say the least. But seeing what they wanted from the Canucks...:

According to CHEK-TV’s Rick Dhaliwal, the Pittsburgh Penguins wanted the Canucks’ No. 1 prospect, Jonathan Lekkerimaki, and 23-year-old, soon-to-be-20-goal-scorer Nils Hoglander in exchange for Pittsburgh Penguins winger-rental Jake Guentzel.

Not only glad they didn't make that trade, but seems like there's a huge gap between the two offers

Definitely a good night in the standings. As it is right now, if the playoffs started today, the Canucks would play.... Vegas

Hoping somehow Vegas crashes out and we end up playing Calgary in the first round

Thanks NYN and good day to you.

Dumba$$ is a c@nt. He was trying to fleece Canucks knowing they were hot for Guentzal. Had no intention to make a fair trade with them.

His puke ego probably couldn’t stand helping the old Pens guard look good. Then when they didn’t budge he took the offer from Canes. Wasn’t so good as having over played his cards the other teams had spent making moves.

Anyway hope there is a fair ask on rental Toffoli.

Kessel on the second line? No. That’s crazy.

Three wins on a three game road trip, and only allowing three goals in the process, this team should be making negative Nancy people like Bloated eat their words, beating two very good teams in LA and Vegas. #suckitbloated

How can anyone be negative with Phil Kessel on the way just in time for playoffs. Trust me, I’m excited!

Tyler Toffoli is the next man up in the No. 1 spot on the Big Board.

It’s still an open question as to whether the New Jersey Devils will actually deal him before the deadline.

They’re obviously in a position where it has to be seriously considered. There was enough interest in a winger about to top 30 goals for the second straight season that the Devils elected to keep him out of Thursday’s 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues for “trade-related reasons.” But that doesn’t mean they’ll take pennies on the dollar for Toffoli.

Slim as the odds may be, New Jersey isn’t ready to wave the white flag on its playoff chances.

The teams that didn’t hit on Guentzel will circle back on Toffoli, but will any of them step forward with a meaningful offer? Is anyone prepared to table a first-round pick?

As of early Friday morning, there was some skepticism from rival GMs that Toffoli would find a new home by 3 p.m. Eastern.

We’ll see.

With the lame return for Guentzel, I wouldn't be offering too much up for Toff. Definitely not a first.

looks like Podkolzin off #Canucks #NHL roster again this morning. Likely paper transaction to make him AHL playoff eligible. Let’s see how day unfolds

Didn't he get papered down the other day for playoff eligibility? Think it may be for a roster spot for Phil "Stanley Cup" Kessel
