Pens are refreshing their phones on the bench tonight.
Trying to be top 10 of lottery for sure. |

The fact that no one in the local media is leaking details about the trade tells you the return is lackluster.
I did get a laugh when Yohe reported yesterday that Vancouver felt the price was too high... literally sounded like it came straight from a text from Jim Rutherford. He's long gone and he still gets the local guys to throw him a bone. |

You know bunting is the "prize piece" of this deal. Dubas is fumbling every decision this far if that is the case. And the team isn't getting younger with this. Can't wait to see what the underwhelming return ends up being. |

Picks usually take the longest to come through so I guess it’s a 2nd or 1st and a b level prospect. |

Local guys loved him. He always told them exactly what was on his mind lol.

And you guys were looking for Laf/ Kakko...Othmann/Perrault ..and a 1st from Rangers??? Said it all along cant give up the farm for a rental. Even my offer of 1st...Jones and Sykora would have been an overpay. Cant believe took Bunting off their hands. Dubas strikes again. |

If you want me to be optimistic about this deal... itd be because we had two finalists for Jake within our division. If Dubas knew the packages being offered were lackluster, he would've sent him to Vancouver or Edmonton or Vegas. Carolina must have been a step up above the rest or there was a specific prospect that they really wanted.
I have no franking idea. Rossi said its a good package given Jake's status as a rental.. so that sounds a little like damage control. |

A pick will take 3 yrs min to mature. No clue who any prospects are. I hate that there is a TOR connection in bunting. It’s basically nepotism. Wasn’t that nieto from tor and he sucks.
Free agency doesn’t look too promising and the pens never have luck in it.
Dark days ahead. |

The guy who I wanted the Penguins to take in the 2022 Entry Draft but got taken right before us, Ivan Miroshnichenko, just scored in PPG Paints Arena for his first NHL goal.

Trikozov was rated 14th Car prospect by Scott Wheeler recently. Better not be the return. |

Here is the scouting report:
“After scoring 33 goals and 63 points in 48 combined MHL regular-season and playoff games as a 17-year-old with an August birthday in his draft year, Trikozov has bounced between the MHL and Russia’s second-tier VHL over the last two seasons, and now produces at a dominant rate when he’s playing with his peers and a respectable one against men.
He spends a lot of time with the puck on his stick when he’s clicking. He can get his shot off in a split second out of catch and releases or carries and does so after attacking on angles and looking to beat defenders to openings in the offensive zone. He’s an entertaining player who threatens with his skill and maneuverability off the rush, often creating good looks for himself or his linemates out of a quick dash immediately after entry. While his defensive commitment level needs work, Trikozov’s a boom-or-bust bet that could pay dividends if he can make the most of his extra runway. His game should translate nicely on the smaller North American ice if/when he comes over, too.” |
