Yea its too bad things didn't work out differently. You know the opposite was true for me, appreciated every season every cup run, I'm not as old as some here but coming up short for so many times in the 80s and 90s, the 2007 and on on seasons were such a treat, to actually know the only team that could beat the Blackhawks was the Blackhawks themselves. |

As quiet as the 2010 Cup ending was when the Flyers didn't blow the horn for the game winning season ending goal scored by Patrick Kane, we were rewarded with one of the best finishes as a Chicago fan with 17 seconds. What a treat. |

Woops, posted in the last blog;
The person that does the wings blog here has been harping on that the whole year. It's really something that should be getting more press.
Being a gate driven league isn't sustainable and I'd think that more than just Winnipeg and Arizona are having problems.
Kind of circles back to the NHL needing to sell its stars and have some more interesting story lines outside of skate hard, win battles blah blah blah.
- fattybeef
Hawks need to be relevant again for Hockey nationally to grow. So Bettman just needs to gift the Hawks another #1 pick, and we'll have have the new Kane and Toews

Hockey isn’t the only sport that have teams looking to move cities.

The boys played well last night but the bounces are just not going their way. Time to sacrifice a virgin to the Hockey Gods! |

Kane scored today (and ADB) and the Blues are losing 4-1. A win for Hawks fans. |

First time I’ve sat down and watched Kane for an extended period of time.
Doesn’t look like he’s missed a beat. Maybe lost half a step but he can still bring it and is moving very well. |

So, the Yotes are going to be sellers at the TDL. What kind of package would it take to get Logan Cooley? He is scoring at .5 per game.

Why would the Coyotes, a young rebuilding team, shop Cooley? |

Unless we land the #1 overall… our highest first and probably a 2nd rounder. Maybe both 1sts. Sure for the 1st overall the Yotes would give him up.
Cooley is a stud. Also his rookie season…. so ya not a convo to have. |

I see a guy play for Oshawa play quite a bit, Cal Ritchie. Big, smart, fast, good skills. Colorado drafted him last season. I’d like to see if the Hawks can put a package together try to acquire him. Ideally without giving up draft picks this season. If the Avs want to acquire someone at the TDL, maybe KD can offer some cap relief as part of the package? |

The same Cal Ritchie that is now, according to Craig Button, ranked as the #6 NHL prospect?
No way Colorado moves him; especially to a team like the Hawks that has nothing to offer that would help the Avs now. |

Probably Korchinski in a one-for-one swap.
Then draft Levshunov |

The same Button who ranked Michkov at number 5? Button is an idiot. Ritchie is good but not that good. Nazar is better and Button ranked him in the 30s.
The Hawks do have something the Avs need, cap space. If KD can get creative I’d like to see him try to get a young guy, like Ritchie. |

And as for another young player mentioned in another post- Ritchie: why would Colorado trade him for help at trade deadline? My reasoning is that they would have to get a pretty good player they aim to re-sign. Like Guentzal. Otherwise with so much high priced talent surely a couple players will be axed after the season if they take on Guentzal with his salary. Ritchie would be an inexpensive add to the roster and he can break in slowly on a lower line maybe some Pp duty. I would rather do this than trade Ritchie for Guentzel.
It is arms race in the western Conference and therefore I understand why Sakic is interested in A Guentzel addition. I have to say, what is your objective is it short or long term. I like to see prospects development but that doesn’t mean you always go that route |

May he RIP.
I remember another Cowboy WR named Lance Renzel. He was arrested for exposing himself and got the nickname Lance No Pants. |

If the Hawks don’t take on at least one bad forward contract for draft capital or a solid prospect I’ll be disappointed. Hawks can eat a bad cap hit for 2-3 years.
Plus that player would still probably be better than 5-6 of the forwards. |

Hypothetical Josh Norris and bouche from Ottawa for 2nd to take that contract? Hawks get a second line center and decent prospect. But this is the kind of trade I could see Davidson doing. Just using this proposed trade as an example |
