Suppose the trade was stated like this: Nylander to CBJ for Bemstrom and a 3rd round in 2026 unless he doesn’t pot at least 6 goals this season in which case that 3rd become a 6th.

Is that better?

At this point I'd be willing to eat salary on Graves. I saw him play in Colorado and he was not great but definitely better. Something is wrong.

We need to prune him as much as he needs a change of scenery.

Carter to Canucks for a conditional 6th rounder (if he plays more than 2 games including playoffs). Pens eat as much of his salary as humanly possible.

Carter is a FA after this season so yeah they probably won't move him unless he wants to move. I think Graves will have some value around the league (not much, but some). I think most of our players have a history of being servicable. So I think they have some value

You don't eat salary for 5 years.

Moves for players with term like Graves are usually done in the off season as it opens up more teams looking for help and full cap dumps.

They'll bring Graves back and hope he plays better in year 2. He's been pretty awful, highly doubtful somebody would trade for him with that contract.

Graves = death = hard player = tough guy = plays the right way with a lot of sand paper.

Graves is a great defensive defense man

Super high risk but accomplishes the goal of adding younger players to the core. Am I drunk or does this make sense?

PIT - Brisson, 1st & 3rd
LVK - Guentzel (1/2 ret)

PIT - Norris, Laine, Peeke, Provorov
CBJ - Chabot, Rackell, Graves
OTT - Karlsson, POJ & Brisson

So Jake, Karlsson, POJ, Rackell & Graves for Norris, Laine, Peeke, Provorov, a 1st & 3rd.

I would think ARI would take Graves if we help pay for their move to Salt Lake City.

Sorry. My initial post was as poorly written as it was poorly thought out.

Carter is a FA after this season so yeah they probably won't move him unless he wants to move.

I'd assume he's either hanging them up or super close. He may want to be in he playoffs again. I don't see a playoff team wanting to use a roster spot on him but maybe someone has 4th line, PK dreams of him?

You don't eat salary for 5 years.

Regarding salary, I meant that for Carter (or anyone else with an expiring contract) we can eat whatever's left since it's expiring if that helps the team we're selling too (usually does). Obviously that includes Jake, Nedeljkovic, even Chad R if anyone wants that.

Graves is a great defensive defense man

I have not seen that yet but to be fair, I haven't watched all the games. I believe stats wise he makes anyone he plays with worse which I can see being a "Pettersen makes your stats better" argument.

Sorry I don’t think you followed my flowchart. Since his last name is Graves he’s obviously good

Usually you have good comments and I tend to agree with you mostly on here. But after reading this comment It's concerning to me..I'm having flashbacks of rob scuderi.

Bemstrom seems to score quite a few goals on the man advantage. Twelve of his thirty-one goals have been on the PP. Too bad ours is set in stone, being a right shot it looks like he could be a help.

I think I read he is going on the 2nd power play.

Side note a few writers are thinking Jakes price is too much or ridiculous lol because I guess Dubas wants more younger talent/prospects over draft picks in the deal.

Graves = digs holes = makes bad mistakes = buries his own team = Graves

Made it work in both directions.

We should take a shot on ruzicka. He’s big, fairly physical, put up 20 points in 44 games in Calgary last year. Will have unlimited energy and intensity as long as he can get back to the change room in between shifts a few times per period.

I would take him! I really don't get the backlash. Kucherov did his Cup press conference on coke and not a thing was said lol
