Does Trouba always make questionable hits or just when he plays the Flames?

Feel awful for Pelletier, but there wasn't anything questionable about the hit.

Sounds like that potential trade with Jersey did get pretty darn serious & Markstrom approved it.

https://www.nhltraderumor...strom-approved-trade.html

Probably was the cost of salary retention as word was they wanted Flames to eat 50% of his salary. That would have costed an extra 1st rounder in my view, which had Fitz gulping a bit. Not sure why he needs any salary retention anyways. Its simple, the $$$ he was going to use to resign Tofolli should be allocated to Markstrom. No friggin brainer. Its not like they paid dearly for Tofolli, Devil fans thought they hit the jackpot only giving up Shar (who wasnt fitting in) & a 3rd round pick. Fitz is being an idiot.

I was listening to the game on the radio and thought I heard them say that the hit was questionable.

One of Sam Bennett's greatest moments as a Flame was when he Dummied Trouba when Trouba was still a Jet.

If anyone was to blame for what happened, it would be the Flames bench for not screaming at Pelletier to let the puck go.

Do stupid sh!t you get what you get. Trouba tries to intentionally injure players. Big difference.

Big words for someone who defends Marchand.

Trevor has written some great articles over on Calgaryhockeynow.

Any thoughts on this one?

I see a problem if they are going to get younger. Not sure what solutions are out there.

Always nice to have a heavyweight in your lineup as long as he can play todays speed game, but more than fighters we simply need skilled guys who can skate and play heavy hockey. Look at Connys 1st draft last year and its obvious he agrees.
The best way to counter Trouba is to do the same thing to the Rangers skilled guys.

Thanks for the shoutout, Duran. I agree that taking it to another level with guys line Panarin might be a solid approach. That Rangers team has some mean players. Cuylle is a gem. Might be my pick for a cup winner this season.

Conroy definitely knows the value of toughness. He played a big part in identifying Garnet Hathaway and Ryan Lomberg as NHLers. Two players that I’m sure Ryan Huska would love to still have around.

It may be an about-face on the subject, but I hope the Flames take a flier on Phillips. There is a dark cloud lingering over the team with all these trades looming.

Matt would be another positive addition to the culture in that room. A redemption arc would be a huge boost. Phillips can still make it with a bit more confidence from his coach.

It’s nice to see that group start to gear towards positivity after the Lindholm trade. Clearly didn’t want to be here.

I would take a chance on Phillips. Can't hurt, also Huska knows him well.
