The only way any GM turns down Nylander for Parayko is if Nylander explicitly says he will never sign an extension.

Parayko is not worth two 1sts. He's probably not even worth one.

Some are saying he has Hedman-like Potential...

Parayko is 30 with over 700 NHL games played. There is no untapped potential in his game. He's a solid dman, but anyone thinking there is major improvement to be had is delusional. If anything, at his age a near future decline in his performance is more likely.

Parayko is on pace for 30 points this year. Which does not stand out at all from the past. Last year he had 27. The year before 35. Five other seasons in the 28-35 point range. So incredibly consistent. This year is nothing unusual.

He's logging a similar amount of ice-time as he has in the past.

He's playing better defensively than last season, but the team overall has improved greatly. Last year they were bottom 5 defensively. This year the are middle of the pack.

So what exactly makes Parayko so much more attractive today than in the past? To the point where you reject a Nylander trade and are demanding two 1sts???

Think what you will …….. the Blues are not trading Parayko ! I will venture to say they are working on a LD out of Calgary ! Hanifin is just what Armstrong has wanted for a few years. Since we are throwing BS around there is a much better chance of the Blues acquiring Hanifin than trading Parayko .

Pareyko has a NTC. He’s getting 6.5 Mil for 6 more years and STL isn’t likely to do any retention. I don’t think he’s going anywhere.

He’s absolutely worth it if you’re talking about a good team picking in the 20’s. Draft picks in that range are overrated if a team has a need pull the trigger

The only way I’d pay 2 1sts for Parayko is if they took back Ceci and retained half of his salary

Parayko was born in Edmonton. So that could be a fit. If they turned down Nylander maybe they would be open to Draisaitl. Blues would need to add more. Brayden Schenn is from Saskatoon and has Cup pedigree. I guess it's possible.

His actual Salary is 8mill for the next 2 seasons, the last 3 years his actual Salary goes down to 4.8mill.

I could see the Flyers being interested in Parayko since they do have $23M of cap space to play with. Even more with the Carter Hart relief. Him and Ristolainen might look good together. Like Hedman and Hedman.
