Well that was obvious. Now what? Can the Flames void his contract since he took time off for mental health but now we know why. On other hand maybe its why his game play sucked this year and part of last, maybe it was eating at him to the point he needed mental health treatment.

Thanks Trevor.

What do the Flames do to clean up the mess Dube left? He made a bad situation worse for both the team and the league.

I think the only thing they can do is pay him the rest of his contract and then sue him if he's found guilty. Probably not worth it though.

Yeah, they have to pay him. You're probably right. Doubt they bother making any more news about this than they already have.

Cheers. Would rather not write about this subject. I think we're all here to talk puck.

True enough. Opens the door more youngsters to make an impression. Got a feeling we are going to see some trades not long after the team is back from All Star break.

Kinda got to wonder how much teams knew in advance to the police calling them in. All 4 on the last year of their contracts with zero reported interest of any extensions.

I imagine the Flames PR staff would LOVE a trade to report right now.

I am all but certain that the organizations to which each of these 5 belong already knew a great deal. Briere’s press releases on the matter suggest so at least. My guess is that management in each of the concerned organizations just waited for the investigation to complete which was likely followed by a “courtesy call” that things will be progressing to next stage. The next stage being the official recommendation to the players to turn themselves in.

The stink of this will never go away from these players, even IF they are found not guilty this will be with them forever. The teams need to look into terminating their remaining contacts in order to distance themselves from these players. Even IF they are found not guilty they knew about this incident yet said nothing. I hope none of these players have daughters. I know Dube is married, how would he even look at his wife now?

And the 5th guy playing in Europe. Have to believe they knew something was coming. Safe to say they'll all be in the KHL...except maybe Hart, the Oilers could use a goalie.

Hey Wreckage it makes you wonder if Dube with his comments in 2022. Might’ve just been hoping things would go away. I think the Flames management knew and thought it was a minor blip.

Thanks for writing it. I suggested to K-man in the Canucks thread last week that perhaps this was the cancer in the room, and why so many players wanted out. If so, it's good news that it's finally come home to roost and the Flames can move on.

Just my opinion. The fact that he and his reps brought mental health into it is a complete pos move regardless of guilt or innocence.

You have no idea what they did and didn't say. Dube has said he was cooperating with the investigation. For all we know, he gave an honest and accurate account of what happened.

It's a major factor if he's innocent. I know it's pretty much impossible to ever find out if he's actually innocent, but how can you call him a piece of poop if he is and years of allegations have taken a toll on his mental health?

Funny how the other 4 never mentioned it while taking their leaves. I'm guessing they felt the same stresses. Also funny how he managed to play through it until a week before he got charged.

Terminate their contacts? Like go through their phones and murder anyone in there? Harsh. But I’m down

Well if Conroy needed any extra initiative he now has it.

Anyways Flames released a statement saying they had no previous knowledge of the charges.

I guess we can put it to rest until there is a ruling in the case.

Puck

Isn't that what they call the girls who hang around the hockey rink and bang the players?

Who knows?

Ask one of the nohomo clowns who was standing around wanking it in a room full of drunk men while waiting their turn with an oozing passed out chick.
