Enjoy the last few months of him in Pittsburgh, he's going to Vancouver to play for Tocchet and the Canucks to chase a few more Cups before the deadline.

I think Crosby would retire before he went to play for a team in Canada.

One time the actor who played Mr Belvedere sat on his own balls on set and caused filming to shut down for a few weeks.

We heard and Guentzel. It sucks but at least the return of Elias Pettersson your current center, Nils Hoglander, and Hughes. Will help soften the blow of the loss lol

Pretty sure the pens win a few more cups before any Canadian team hoists it again. Let alone Vancouver

Coming from a flyer fan simply the most consistent and best all around hockey player I’ve ever seen

The numbers are a bit skewed when comparing it to the rest of his career as scoring is up in general over the last few years. Shouldn't take much away from Sid as he's still playing incredible hockey.

With all that being said, Pens should trade Crosby, Malkin, Letang while they still would bring back very significant value. This seem unlikely direction given the Karlsson acquisition this offseason, but Pens should not settle for maybe possibly squeaking into the playoffs. Take it from me as a Hawks fan, if you wait another couple of years your stars will get you almost nothing in return and your fall to the bottom will hit hard.

This was a pretty special era for our division as a whole. Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Giroux, Lundqvist, Carlson, Holtby, Backstrom, Ovechkin, Tavares, Kuznetsov all in their primes going at it. It’s a shame the Flyers got mismanaged into irrelevancy early cus you guys had some good pieces that would have made this division even more of a slug fest.

But then you got Conor Bedard because of it... I'd take that outcome 10 out of 10 times.

Yeah end of the day there’s a lot of us on here that are just completely fine with the idea of a long painful rebuild and opposing fans are just not getting that. We’ll watch our 3 Cup wining super stars retire and then suck until we get draft luck in X amount of years and be happy.

Let’s all be honest. Deep down in our hearts… we all believe we will be gifted the next superstar when that happens cause it’s has always been that way. As pittsburghers we deserve a hockey superstar at all times.

The Pens are the only team I’m a fan of that have had sustained tangible success in my adult life. I am very good and comfortable at following teams that wallow in mediocrity.

Overall I feel like Sid stays and retires a Penguin. However, I think if he were to go anywhere else it would either be a Canadian team or the Avs to play with his bestie.

If Sid did want to move on somewhere else that was a contender it would hurt a tiny bit initially but overall I would be fine with it and be rooting for him. He's paid his dues to the Pens and then some.

Why are you so convinced he wouldn't want to play for a team in Canada?

I have to agree with your take regarding keeping Guentzel around, It is not time to rebuild unless you are selling everyone, and who really wants to see that?!

I have however pondered... what if they could trade him for a kings ransom, knowing that Guentzel wants to re-sign in the off-season? Is that a possibility?

With the way this season is going you trade Guentzel for a king’s ransom regardless, but that’s just not going to be on the table. Rentals never go for ransoms at the deadline.

I still just want to trade Jake so something different happens and I’ve never really liked him.

I actually don't feel that way at all. I feel I've seen so much draft luck already that I don't expect another generational talent anytime soon. That's why I want to appreciate the guys we have with the time that's left.

I'm sure they'll rebuild into something competitive eventually, just feel we're due a period building around more a team with some good players than a generational talent

I’m hoping for just a team of good hardworking players that play the game right and dump and chase their way to a cup. Oh and block a ridiculous amount of shots.

I dont think he'd want that attention/focus that he would get in Canada. I think Pittsburgh was the perfect market for him because it isnt a huge market with a lot of media attention, but its a market that is a hockey market and cares about the game.

I could be dead wrong, i dont know the guy. but i think your guess that if he left, it'd be to play with MacKinnon, is probably dead on.

Need to figure out a way how Pittsburgh becomes the city the Tkachuk brothers can finally play together in and have it line up with Crosby’s final season.

Sidney Crosby is quite proficient at playing ice hockey.
