I suppose I’m stirring the pot early but yes, I do believe moving anyone on the back end might make or break the defebse. In terms of chemistry and overall depth. I think the defense is an all hands on deck situation.

Maybe a slight overreaction but I wouldn't say you're stirring the pot. I'm a little more concerned with forwards as they get into February/March.

Hey Bill,

What time does Couturier get out of his hyperbaric healing chamber before each game so Torts can run him into the ground again?

The forward group is significantly more of a question mark and to think otherwise is downright stupid. One injury upfront, like a Tippett, and the group is all of a sudden very thin

Guys have been in and out all year. No real pairings. This is a dumb post.

Torts said today he is coming around on his view of 11/7, that it gives him a chance to get more ice time to forwards that he believes are better when they get more time. He mentioned Atkinson asked for more time and the 11/7 gives Torts the ability to give him that ice time. Torts also said Tippet is day to day.

It’s a horrible long term plan. The defense cannot stand having 7 guys back there. And when you are down or in a back to back like over the weekend you’ve now over extended the forward group. This 11/7 nonsense needs to stop.

wasnt aware you had to go 11/7 to play the forwards more. Torts is a genius.

I hope they do t rush Tippett. With the AllStar break coming up, perhaps for the long run it would be wise to just let him get to 100% and return after the break.

add in the D will lose some continuity with rotating partners.

Coots uses one of those bacta tanks from Star Wars to regenerate. That’s the only explanation.

I agree. There's no need to rush him back before then.. It's too bad because he had been playing great..

yep. If it did make or break them then they were not that good to begin with. Corky gonna corky.

If the flyers were a legit top 4 cup contending team then you can easily justify keeping them both. Otherwise you build up your assets. This is not hard in anyway.

Don't want to hear they owe it to the guys in the room BS.

Drysdale has seen all of 5 games as a Flyer. Each game with 7 defensemen. For the most part the defense has been healthy, especially in the top 4 where we’ve been lucky. Who have we lost long term, Risto? Staal?

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Clearly. If we actually lose a Sanheim or a Walker for a long period of time, than let’s see how the D holds together.

There has been way more of a rotation up front. The Flyers have learned to survive games without Couturier, Frost or Tippett.

This is not just direct at you (it happens here all the time) but why can’t people agree to disagree about things without personally attacking each other? Is civility just dead?
