Stellar again 👍 |

The penalty killing has been much better. When the coaches realized that your best PK defensemen are the big, strong and defensively solid defensemen, that aspect of the special teams has looked more confident and competent.
Time for Allvin to pull the trigger and acquire a 2nd line centre, maybe someone Iike either of the Strome Brothers, or Henrique, who has been a solid player throughout his career.
I keep expecting the wheels to fall off the wagon, been a fun season to watch, after the decade of darkness.
Tocchet earned my respect when he made that comment about loving shutouts, and rather win 2-0, than 8-4.
Suck it Nighty. |

I’m totally fine with 2-0 games. Sign of a very good team & PO tough. High scoring teams inflate contracts to stupid levels. Pay for winning not stats. Biggest contract if both. |

As long as they win, I could care less whether they win 8-7 or 1-0, bank the two points and move on. If you want to win the Cup, you need to win no matter the circumstances, not to mention it depends on the style of play of the opponents too. |

It depends on able to play team D for sustainable success. This season isn’t about a 1 & done in the PO’s the way this season has trended. |

Pretty much my take…
https://thehockeywriters....ects-2024-trade-deadline/
Others in here also in tune with a solid pick up not the big fish.
I'd be fine trading any prospect if it brought in a top-tier player that's under contract and in their prime. Which.... is unlikely. Other than that, I hope they avoid the bigger names at the TDL. |

Agree but none are locked up which is key. With RFA’s & UFA’s to resign it’s a tough juggle already.

I liked the moves they made in the offseason which were geared towards defending and making the team harder to play against
The results speak for themselves.

Gives me faith they're not going to something Benning-esque at the deadline. |

I think if they do anything it will be well before the deadline. Rutherford doesn't mind taking his shots, but I really hope he leaves the top tier prospects out of it. |

Agree, it'll be sooner rather than later. Hopefully another forward or 2 and another D man. I'd like to see Kuz and Mihky replaced. |

I don't mind the forwards but think we need to add a C. We do need another defender as you typically need to be 8 deep in the playoffs. |

I wouldn't mind seeing a top 6 forward added, preferably a C and a bottom 6 grinder/crusher and another D for depth.
I've never been impressed with Mikheyev, he's not detrimental but he's also not a great asset, just skates fast. I wish they traded Kuzmenko last deadline or at the draft when his value was seemingly high. |
