Trevor, you controlled yourself for once and wrote about the Oilers without bad mouthing them, I'm impressed.

Should be an amazing game, I'm sure the Flames will be giving 200%.

That being said, victim number 13 coming up!

Big mistake not going with Wolf tonight. We all know the Flames are scared of the Oilers, but they don't need to make it so obvious. I don't care who you are, if you give up four goals and lose, you should be on the bench for the next game.

I get that Wolf wasn't very good during his earlier stint, but there's very little risk starting Wolf tonight. If he gets lit up, oh well. That's what's supposed to happen. But if he manages to steal a win, that's a huge building block and starts to shift the narrative.

Best I had was that McDavid only has five points in his last five games. Hah.

Not a big deal, he'll be playing many many games against the Oilers. Flames are trying to decide if they trade Markstrom or Vladar. Whats the big deal that they play Vladar, really, we dont have big expectations of winning this game, who cares.

Good game. Flames are very inconsistant without Markstrom or maybe as a whole. Win a couple, lose a couple, definately wouldn't make it out of the first round if they make it that far. The time is now to start making changes.

I take back my assessment of Vladar, he’s the only reason it wasn’t 4-0 after the first. I think this team has spoken, it’s time for some changes. With all those scouts at the game last night. I’m sure it’s coming.
Lindholm to Colorado for Byram
Tanev to Winnipeg for Barlow
Coleman to Dallas for Biechel and a 2nd
Vladar to Edmonton for Holloway

Who else would you guys trade?

Or do they keep Vladar and trade Markstrom?

That 2nd goal on Vladar was definate luck. Feel bad for him. I'd keep Hannifin but as for Vladar or Markstrom it would all come back to return but I would keep Markstrom 1 more year to help Wolf develop. Lindholm is definately going to Colorado.

Yeah there’s puck luck and puck (frank)ed, the Flames got the latter. I thought Sam Gagner was dead!

This team has been riding heaters by Sharks and Coleman. When they come back to earth we see the results.
Coleman’s shooting percentage has to be crazy high compared to his career average.

Vladar was great again last night and proved the smart play was indeed to start him. The Flames played hard again as they have all year but the Oil do finally look like a contender as painful as that is for me to say.

We have a selection of left shot wingers, 2C's, top 4 D, #1 & #2 goalies and we can retain $ 3 times.
Look at the wild card standings..... there is a serious sellers market brewing!

Bring on the deadline!!!!!!!

What about:
Lindy with 50% retained and a kicker to the Canucks for Tom Willander and a 2024 1st

My guess is he goes on LTIR for this season and if so that would create a need for another callup until Pospisil is back.

Probably comes down to the severity of his issues. If the organization’s medical staff deem him unfit to play then he’ll be in the same situation as Kylington. Dubé would go on LTIR, his roster spot would open up, his cap hit would move to LTIR cap relief.

Thank you Trevor.

Hearty thanks to all those involved in Hockey Day Canada. You did my home city of Victoria proud.

There were hundreds of people wearing sweaters ranging from all the Canadian teams to old time players like Richard Duff and Bill Barilko.

A vintage Jean Beliveau sweater caught my eye and when I complimented the owner we shared some memories of what a class act and fierce competitor Beliveau was.

Lanny McDonald, Cassie Campbell- Pascall and Darcy Tucker all mingled with the large crowd.

Watching people see the STANLEY CUP, many for the first time, added to it all.

And we even dodged the rain.

Thoughts go out to Dillon Dube and hope for a bright future.
