I was wondering who would do the play by play tonight. With yesterday's game scheduled for TNT, Vosters ddn't make the trip and he couldn't fly out today due to weather. Brendan Burke was in town to do the game scheduled for yesterday and since he can't get out of town, make use of him and have him do the game tonight.
The other alternative would have been nice - a Widemann/Murray simulcast on radio and TV.

Phillips paired with Tinordi tonight
That is no blessing; this is the worse partner he could have. But Phillips needs to be smart and show he can play well

Donato is out too

Didn’t catch the full report on pregame talk but Crevier may be press box

The Vlasic - Crevier tandem sounded pretty good earlier this season. With that pair they put Murphy with ? Jones. You put Murphy instead with KK?

I believe that Crevier is ideal for a 5th dman due to his size + all around ability. The question is who
eventually is the one remaining dman

Murphy may not leave this year but emergence of KK and anyone else spells Murphy moved for a draft choice?

We know S Jones is here for a while as in a few years

For Buffalo

Jokiharju paired with Dahlin. Really. Wow Also Middelstadt leading Sabres in scoring. Wow

Mr Ricochet:

Have you noticed not one crappy talented player on Buffalo roster. Each is talented with even lesser touted prospects possessing upside

I would like to know however if Levi would benefit from one year AHL & not NHL right away. Another top goaltender prospect playing well in second AHl season - Askarov

Oh I overlooked Robinson on Sabres. A depth player they acquired for his size and defensive acumen. Good skater too but not ever a budding prospect

And Girgensons is past prospect stage a decent talent never had put up numbers

Tomorrow night we see Dobson, Barzal and Sirokin but Polluk apparently long term injury. Yes Horvat too

Zeroed in on Phillips' last shift, as usual kid made 3-4 plays and a nice positional read in his zone. ........... Kinda hard not to see the kid being an NHLer.

Ole Panger either doesn't dig Vosters, likes this guy he's working with tonight, or both, but he's 5 times more nerdy and irritating than usual. .......

I couldn't catch who made the feed to Jones in the slot that Jones was in alone on. Anyone know who made that feed from the right wall on a checkup? .... Helluva read and feed.

Phillips was on the first PK unit out on BUF's 2nd PP.

It goes to show you play great defense the entire time and one guy loses his guy 1-0 Sabres

Thanks, Dots... You know, think it was a game or two as a Hawk and IIRC Sanford had a shootout try. Showed quick hands, got a deke backhander up quick and high from the low slot. Thought this guys got nicer hands than I realized and that I can see why he's a 2nd rd pick.

Usually every game this guy shows good hands for a guy of any size but especially so for a guy that big........

Murray just said, "not a knock on any of the players but they don't have a top 6 forward on the roster right now"!!

Just wondering, i don't know anything about being a goalie, but if Soda doesn't turn his head does that puck go into the net?

I imagine it's hard to stare down a puck at your face but i don't think that goes in the net if he stares down the puck

According to Pang, it seems like he should have played it different.

Compared to 4-5 games ago, all season really, Soderblom has looked like a different goalie. Much quieter, less scrambly, square, reduced rebounds with good reads... Figures with the kinda luck the poor guy has had this yr all 3 goals pretty much weren't his fault.

Yea, the one off his head maybe but he was still pretty tight to the post.

Murray is not wrong, as they currently stand, they don’t have a top six player on this team, doesn’t mean Reichel won’t be one, but he’s not one now.
Edit - there’s a reason for all the injuries, it’s not all bad luck. They lack so much talent that they’re always defending or trying to do too much on offense due to this lack of talent, and hence putting themselves in vulnerable positions.
