The Panthers hit a lot of posts and drilled many others right into the goalie’s chest. The kid was on his game and always well positioned. And he made some really good saves on shots that I thought were going in.
Good game by the Devils. Bob had his Dman tip the first one by him, got interfered with on the second one when his Dman shoved the attacker into him. Third one he probably should have stopped.
LoL Barkov playing goalie at the end made a couple of saves to delay the empty netter. |

Didn’t see the third period, but it looked like the Panthers thought it was gonna be really easy after the first 19 minutes and let up and got burnt. Restored 2 goal lead and then let them start getting back in the game again |

Is it just me or should of Panthers never have gotten rid of Lyons? That guy has character. |

One of Yzerman's best pickups last season was signing Lyon as a free agent (2 year deal). Heck.. he's our best goalie. Anybody who says he's not a legit #1 doesn't know what they're talking about and probably hasn't seen him play. I'm still surprised nobody else picked him up.. we got him super cheap... at like $775,00 per year or close to that.
On an unrelated note signing Patrick Kane has worked out very well... despite the naysayers. He's got 16 points in 19 games and has been very effective. He wasn't in the lineup last night for an injury that is unrelated to his hip. He'll be back next week it looks like. |

Yzerman has a winning blueprint, first with the Lightning, now he is building. one with the Red Wing. |

I thought they would have tried to keep him. Maybe Lyon thought he had a better chance to play more in Detroit. It seems the Wings crease may be his for now. |

I made a wrong assumption when they signed Stolarz in the off-season. I assumed that being a big goalie like Adrian Hill he would cover a lot of the net and be an upgrade from the smaller goalies that get run into and pushed around. What I missed is that he doesn't have the character or determination of Alex Lyons. Where Hill and Lyons have the mentality that no pucks are going into my net tonight, Stolarz drifts and has no character. He's a bumbling clodhopper. |

The other thing I notice about Stolarz is when he is in net, the Panthers don't play as well in front of him as they do Bob. They get caught up ice a lot and there are a lot of breakaways on him where he gets easily deked out. |
