They’ve got some injuries, some guys playing through stuff. For the first time since contending again they’ve got a totally unreliable backup goalie resulting in further downward pressure on the G1 and the defense and this also creates more troubling counting stats and dynamic disparity making things look worse than they are.
Mikko needs to get going.
Maybe I’m alone in this, but I don’t like the body language of Cale, Mikko, even Nate at times. I sense a little of them expecting the refs to bail them out and/or playing as if the game owes them this or that, expecting something to happen vs making it happen.
Lastly, burning out Georgiev now burns us all later…

I'd agree with pretty well all of this.

Unfortunately burning georgiev out now isn't even resulting in much for reliable goaltending... That's troubling

As a fan of both teams (lived in both places for the same amount of my life) this was a great game to watch.

To answer your question, I’d sit Niko and tell him it’s a reset. Let him comeback with some fire. I also thought the goalie played well last night against Philly. The flyers had a host of odd man rushes. Finally, Philly is playing good hockey right now, the Aves are injured, and had recently played (less rested team). Seemed like Philly had a good opportunity to win it. In short, the sky isn’t falling for the Aves….yet.
