If his hip was ok or ok-ish, he’d play in order to get a contract somewhere. Missing a year and having to sign somewhere next year on a show me deal is not optimal. The fanbase isn’t really an issue.

Think the problem is everybody liked Muzzin and he had a good deal of time before he completely broke down. This is literally 5 months in and his career was "already" done. Yet we sit around complaining about Patty Kane wanting 3 years and he was just not Patty Kane last year, but still better than most.

Yeah Klingberg sure didn’t have any time here to make friends with fans…it’s unfortunate.

But yeah I think whoever gets Patty Kane will be a better team. I kind of chuckle at people not wanting Kane on their team.

Even if Sabres overpay, they have the cap space and in another poop year at least it’s entertainment.

Toronto, Boston, Florida, Dallas are all teams who wouldn’t and can’t pay him a lot. If he lands with one of those teams fans should be ecstatic.

There’s Detroit…who probably could overpay but again free talent and it’s Patty Kane, they are better if they sign him.

I don’t have a problem with him wanting 3 years but think if someone was willing to give it to him he’d be signed by now.

From the Leaf’s perspective, it’s just a question of $ spent on him vs on defence.
