Tale as old as time......Flames underachieve for a long stretch....face tons of scrutiny get faced with the threat of breaking up the core.....band together and talk about how "tight the locker room is" and how they have each others backs... play good for a 10 game stretch, the threat of breaking up the core goes away...management comes out and says they believe in this team and truly believe we have a championship team... we continue to play at a 500 or just under stretch squeak into the playoffs and get knocked out 1st round or barely miss the playoffs but after a great 10 game stretch either was is explainable that its a "tough league but we believe in this team".... blah blah blah

That power play is just...... pathetic.

For years we've been devoid of a bomb from the point and a 1 timer on the flank!
Way too easy to defend by simply pressuring the puck.

He might be the best option we have but he's a long way from Iggy and Al McInnis which is in line with what we really need.

I think we all expected a little more out of Savard. But maybe he is just lulling the league into a false sense of security.

Iginla strong! Lots of D ranked in the 1st round, we need at least 1 more 1st and an extra 2nd.Hopefully Flames Brass isn’t falling for this again, trade the malcontents. Play the kids, stack the farm. Flames have found some gems in the later rounds as well, Pospisil looks like a steal. Hope that slew foot hit he took didn’t rattle his brains.

Seriously, I had season ticket when MacInnis broke in with the Flames, he was know for his shot and was used mainly as a pp specialist for the first little while.Finally gained some trust from the coaches and the rest is history. Does anyone remember his con Smythe and declaring he was going to Disneyland?

I really like watching Zary play, its nice seeing players enjoy themselves and not take things for granted.

Thought Zadorov gave the puck away too many times but if we can land a top prospect such as Cowan or Minten out of Toronto, that would be awesome. Really need to add to this youth movement, there’s lots to like the way the kids have energized this team.

I'm just happy Pospisil and Zary are getting an opportunity this season.

That set up for the Backlund goal last night...on the celly you could see Backs looking right at him and saying "WOW". I like these kids..can't wait for Coronato to come back up with confidence.

Exactly watching Pospisil and Zary are way more interesting than watching 35 year olds filling depth positions.
