Oilers need .900 level goaltending and that scoring drought will go away fast. Who would you take out of Montreals three goalies.....Monty, Allen or Premeau? |

If EDM were in the Eastern Conference their season would already be over. Their PP last year might have been the most dominant ever so that never should be expected to repeat. But even if McDrai were #1 and #2 in scoring like last season, the team would still struggle to compete with this goaltending. |

The Oilers should play the whole game 6 on 5. Probably do better than they have with their goaltenders. |

Even Ekholm is starting to look like an Oiler. What’s with the dynamic duo staying out for 1:45 on that pp, geez thanks for the 15 second pp shift. Who’s running this team?
The look on McJesus’s face at the end of the game says it all. |

Season is over. Start selling whatever you can. McLeod, Foegele, Ceci, Desharnais. Move anyone without a NMC. At least have Connor Brown's cap apply to this year instead of next. |

Hola Mrs McDavid. Are you still thinking the cup is the Oilers to lose? 2 periods away last year, seems to have taken a toll on this team.

I think McDavid has to break away from Draisaitl...either tell the GM to trade Leon or ask for a trade out of EDM.
Draisaitl's horrible work ethic, attitude, etc. is actually starting to impact Connor's legacy.
(In Leon's defence, it might be hard to focus on hockey when you can bang that supermodel every night! Lol) |

You need a goalie who can actually play the game.
I would come out of retirement to save the day but I’m 70 now and was a backup at the university level so would be about the same level as Skinner |

Edmonton needs Yanni Gourde, or a player like him. Every time I see the guy play, he's working his butt off up and down the ice. His contract and term are similar to Draisaitl's but there's no way he waves his NTC. |

Morning gents,
Just to be clear, I really thought it to be smart asset management to shop Draisaitl 2or3 years ago (work ethic, attitude, poor leadership, MAX value at the time, etc), but I now believe that EDM should keep him. This is not a player you lose in a panic...for less than his value (it's very high). Let Leon learn from this and grow up a little...and perhaps move him later when the dust settles and his value jumps again.
They desperately need leadership. It's not CMD, not Leon, not Nurse, not Nuge...they need a true General for the troops. I really think they missed out on Rick Tochett, and this new coach looks like another Xs and Os "players' coach"...not at all what they need.
A true leader would smash Draisaitl onto the wall in practice, put his stinky glove in Nuge's face, remind Connor he's not in the fkn top20! That Bedard is better (he's not...but piss him off), drill slappers at the goalies' heads, start fights in practice, 430am wakeup calls "we're going running boys!", "players' only meetings...with LOTS of booze! Lol, etc etc etc
They are not a TEAM, and they have no leadership.
When a player really fkd up in the past, Messier would spend the entire intermission staring at him. The player didn't dare repeat that experience.
Yes it's a bit of goaltending, a bit of defense, a bit of 2dary scoring...but it's all about leadership and the Oilers have no leaders. (How much did Gagner stand out in a leadership position??? and he's just scratching the surface of what's needed).
Rant over, sorry.
I love this team...they'll get through it. |

2 years ago? You were saying trade Drai 2 days ago! You've been back and forth like a pendulum on trading or keeping him. |

I said "if" one of them is traded keep McDavid. Pay attention Skippy.
It's poor asset mgmt right now for the Oilers to trade ANYONE really... they'll have to be patient here. Coaching and leadership is the problem, not personnel. Tochett was the perfect fit...unfortunately. |
