Where are all of the Torts bashing posts decrying him a dinosaur today ?

I hope people are seeing how his defense first system creates opportunities on offense.

Right now they look in sync in most areas of the game, where as during the previous seasons with other coaches they looked completely out of kilter. That is how Columbus looks - look what they just went through, an unexpected coaching change.

And he has all of the center men playing his system vs. doing their own thing.
Good coaching does matter.

I can't believe I'm typing this but the Flyers could kinda put some distance between themselves in standings to end the month with all these Metro games coming up.

The things he is criticized over is well justified. And I'm the furthest from his detractor.

I’m not a big Tortorella fan, but he has the team playing well. I’m more happy that it’s fun to watch them again. We will see how far he can take them.

The best news so far this season is that it looks like some of these young players are going to be good. Nice to see the youth finally coming in.

I’d like to see Frost get more consistent playing time, though. If they aren’t going to keep him then at least get him going to up his trade value.

Just saw Seeler's clip of him handing out the player of the game award to ND.
Liked what he said..." someone who always has our backs".
For all the hate ND gets here, IMO he has played his role very well and his efforts are well appreciated within that dressing room. To me, that is value. I get the younger players need to play, but that is for the coach to decide who is giving their best effort nightly
Hey, we could have Ryan Reeves.
Seeler continues to be steady and well worth the salary

Cutter Gauthier with another goal on Saturday against UConn. So far in 12 games, he has 11 goals and is averaging more than 5 shots per game. His 47% on faceoffs is not great, but I think he will be a winger in the NHL anyway.

I don't think anyone disputes that Tortorella is a good coach. A great one? Debatable. One with certain blinders? Yes. Stubborn? Absolutely.

Agreed.

Torts said he owes it to the guys in the room to try and win and I appreciate that. Should we be buyers? Hell no. But why foster a culture of losing when we have all these youngish guys on the team? So they can get tired of it and sign elsewhere or ask for a trade? Sure, tanking gets you a high pick and (sometimes) a really good player - but it also gives you a room of disinterested players that probably don’t want to be there anymore.

One that gets the most out of his teams that lack talent? Absolutely.

Don’t let your love for one player keep you from enjoying the wins and the overall better play.

The divisional games will be huge as they always are. I want to see how the match up vs the rangers pitt wash devils and isles. If they hold their own, I’ll be impressed.
