I wish we could have both top lines perform well for an extended period. 2nd line was abysmal last night.

Rakell has been a big let down. Last season he started producing and just isn't the player he once was.

Last night wasn't all on him. That line has just gone silent in the last week or so. Smith and Geno were sloppy as hell last night.

Just like when Zuck wasn't scoring you can tell Rak is trying, he's just lost all confidence.

Apparently, Malkin has been sick. Don't know if that's been the problem, but the fall off in his play lines up with him missing practice because he wasn't "feeling well". He's been a force all season with the exception of last week. Who knows. Ebb and flow of a season maybe.

Might explain why Smith has been invisible the last couple too.

It's the same thing with Bedard, or any player. Just because a player is great doesn't mean we have to blow a load over everything he does.

You'll be fine with it when Michkov finally suits up for the orange and black.....

No I think Mr J is genuinely a cranky person who will also not let his fellow flyers fans enjoy things when they finally get a super star.

hahaha that could be correct.

In this case here, though, its a Penguins blog and he also shows Crosby doing soccer with puck as well....I don't know, just seems like strange stuff to be calling out IMO haha

It is, there was nothing interesting about the "soccer poop." Doesn't even belong under r/MildlyInteresting.

The game before Thanksgiving is my favorite game of the year to go to. A more vocal and excited crowd since there's a lot of out-of-towners who are home for Thanksgiving. Also everyone's in a good mood since the next day is the holiday. Makes leaving a lot more pleasant than normal.

Nah, I'm not on Team Negative. But I do look forward to yelling at dangerous-looking teenagers in a few years.

No one player is going to turn the Flyers around, and definitely not with Torts at the helm. But no, if people are falling all over themselves whenever Michkov makes a routine pass or does something that has nothing to do with hockey, I'll feel the same. That's how I was with Lindros and Giroux. Now, Lindros using his feet to protect the puck from 3 defenders for over 30 seconds trying to close out a win, yes I was impressed.

We’re talking about the guy that saw Orpik’s free candy shift against the wings as “poor defensive play” The dude is as lame of a hockey fan as it gets, and he listens to Phish, like for real listens to them.

I was at Orpik's "the shift" game, one of my favorite Igloo memories.

From kindergarten right up to high school I played outdoor soccer in the summer and indoor in the winter. Really enjoyed it....just not as much as hockey.

It is the sport of the world. However, I think certain parts of the world are turned off by the low scoring and perhaps the diving, too. The diving is ridiculous. I remember starting to feel like the NHL was going that route but it seems to have smartened up a bit. There was way more embellishing going on like 15 years ago IMO.

Hinostroza and Ludvig both practicing today. Which is interesting because if Ludvig is activated, Hinostroza has to be sent down. Although they could just LTIR POJ at this point since he's missed seven games, but sounds like he's close too. Back to 12 forwards soon?

Edit- Ruhwedel, Rackell, Nieto, Ruhwedel all missing so maybe it sorts itself out again. Ruhwedel did leave the game so that's probably something. Have to imagine Ludvig is back in if Ruhwedel can't go since he already played 2 games this weekend in WBS.

I definitely want to see more of Ludvig. Hopefully getting his bell rung doesn't make him tone it down.

He may or may not have said it but definitely points towards getting out of position to make a big hit. I'm for the big hit as long as it separates man from the puck, but if you are gonna go out of position it better be a big (frank)ing hit. That's one of the reasons JJ sucked, out of position all day.
