One last game. Just get through the game healthy, only thing I care about tonight.

Huge loss to kick start the season

No morning skate today, so no lines until warmups. I wonder if we see some or all of the "bubble" guys all get into the lineup tonight to get one last look before final cuts. I highly doubt they run back the same exact lineup from Wednesday, so guys who didnt play last game that could all get in tonight are: Tierney, Foote, Thompson, Bowers, Halonen, Willman, and Bastian(returning from injury) up front. Nemec, Hatakka, and Miller on the back end. Let's see who gets that last chance.

No Foote is a surprise here, maybe dealing with an injury? Also, Poor Schmid. Having to play behind the most watered down lineup we could've possibly put out lol.

Yeah agreed, definitely interested to see how Holtz does. If i had to guess, i'd like to see Thompson get a shot there with Mercer and Holtz. Big time prove it opportunity for him if that ends up being the case.

If Holtz becomes Holtz and we sign Mercer to 8 yrs. If devils dont make a dynasty from this its a failure. At least 3 cups I think are needed for this version of the Devils to be considered great with all the talent and how long we have them.

Call me crazy, but I think its going to happen.

Playing Smith at all is just a joke. The guy is awful.

Nobody knows. He got hit with a puck in the mouth at morning skate a week or so ago, but played in the game that night. But he hasn't been on the ice since. So could be an injury relating to that or something that happened during the game. We'll find out after the game

Probably will lose this game, but to be up after 1 is pretty damn impressive

Will be interesting to see if the team decides to carry 8 D to start the season. Hatakka has really made a case that he deserves a roster spot to be the 7th or 8th D. You risk losing a forward or two to waivers but he has certainly made enough of a case to make Fitz/Ruff consider going 13/8 instead of 14/7.

With so many games in metro, I do like the idea of players like Lazar staying. We'll need those bruisers and grinders for most of the metro matchups I think.

But I don't know anything about this Hakka kid so maybe he's worth the chance?

I fully expect a decent injury or 2 in the first 2 weeks.

The team has assigned Hatakka and Poulter to the AHL and have put Thompson, Bowers, and Dowling on waivers.

They have also signed Max Willman to a 1 year, 2 way contract and assigned him to Utica.

28 players left, 5 more cuts to go. Might see some players placed on IR to start the season instead of cuts(Daws, Halonen, Kinkaid, and Foote seemingly all dealing with injuries). If that's the case, only 1 cut to go.
