He's a good young player with upside. But nobody considers him a good character guy. It's the opposite. Nobody wants to touch him until the Hockey Canada story is released. At that point he'll either be signed or kicked out of the NHL. Find one GM that will go on the record today saying he's a great character kid.

Ducks tanked his value when Eakins called out his work ethic midway through last season. That and the Team Canada thing and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up playing in Europe this year.

Max was money his first season, then the accusations came out and he went down the toilet. I've heard he wasn't directly involved but he lied to cover one of his buddies. Who knows, Hockey Canada is really good at protecting its own. I agree with the other poster and expect him to play in Europe next year.

If the perpetrators hold that the act was consensual, then the misconduct might be construed as 'alleged' from their point of view. The inclusion of 'described in the media' also proffers mixed messages. Lawyer speak. Found Steel's statement to be one of the more nebulous of the group. If Steel wasn't involved, I'd look for a new agent who knows how to clear your name with appropriately decisive language.
