Logan Cooley....Signing with Yotes to be Traded?
A lot of talk today that Cooley will indeed sign with the Coyotes...However, many people I talk to feel this is compromise so they don't lose him for nothing. He gets the best ELC he can, and Arizona will get something back... |

He just completed his freshman year. He has three more years of NCAA eligibility. Why would he need to sign in order to be traded? Couldn't they just trade his rights? |

He was drafted 3rd overall he's going to get a MAX deal .... sound more like he wants to specify where he plays and leave college early. |

The real story. He's a teenager. In May he blurted out something about going back to college to avenge losing the national title in overtime. The fact that Arizona just lost the arena vote and seems in disarray probably contributed to that.
Then his agent stepped in and said "Logan, slow down. See what the Coyotes do this offseason. Go to the Coyotes development camp this summer. See what you think. Nothing left to prove in college. The sooner you sign your ELC and burn those years, the sooner we can proceed to a big money contract".

Well, can’t blame anyone for not wanting to play for that franchise. Arizona is a poor excuse for an NHL team, is horribly run and has been for years, and is playing in a 5,000 seat college rink, and and and they have no idea where they will be next year or the year after that. Just an embarrassment.
