Sabres and Flames talks…
Continuing to hear more and more names…These two teams are “heavily involving in MAJOR trade talks.” The Sabres have even discussed what it would take to get Lindholm. |

The Sabres wont want to pay up for a rental and the Flames would want a 1st plus significant prospect capital back. |

Not enough for an extended top line centre. Im sure Columbus would beat that offer. Markstrom is a heck of a lot better fit than Gibson Sabres have been kicking tires on.
Min lottery protected 2024 1st & 2025 2nd in addition to those prospects. But I doubt a trade for just futures will happen. That triggers a complete rebuild & as much as we would be cool with that, I honestly dont think that is Conroys marching orders from Edwards. I would think Olofsson to assist with the cap & plays in the top 9, Peterka who is NHL ready & can play, Savoie, 2024 lottery protected 1st.
Thats the cost to get an extended top line centre & our #1 goalie. I dont buy the BS that Markstrom is no good, hes a year out of being the Vezina runner up.

I'd pull the trigger on this one.

Markstrom a year out from being a Vezina finalist. Lindholm is still in his prime, defensively responsible and yet a year removed from a 40 goal season (and 2 others where he came close to 30 goals). Sabres would have to offer a lot more. |

Probably have to take $ back but Savoie and Rousek are both great prospects. Getting more cap $ is a great addition as well and a 2024 2nd. I don’t think Peterka would be made available.
Sabres got to do something, they can’t rebuild for 15 years without making the playoffs. It’s been 12 years already and they need to take the next step. Markstrom and Lindholm would help with that.

Conroy’s collecting Eastern European players. So Rousek would fit right in.

Understand your viewpoint, but Lindholm is not a top line Center on the Sabres, plus they have Cozens.
Might not be a match between the two teams with Lindholm. |

I don’t think Savoie is going anywhere. His relationship with Benson had to be a factor at the draft. Picks, Olofsson and a Kulich/Rousen/Rosin mix. |
