Leafs Circle Back on Karlsson…If they can trade Nylander+Brodie.
Hearing a ton of talk this morning that Toronto continues to work on a deal involving NYLANDER and or possibly Brodie (with sal retention) to the Isles and Hawks respectively…If they can pull that off the Hawks would also eat some salary and help get Erik Karlsson to Toronto.. |

The last thing Leaf’s need is Karlson. They need big tough D. EK would not last one playoff round and he’d be hurt. |

It's getting old. The cap hit is too much, SJ won't retain enough, wants too much back and the cap ceiling has barely moved in years. I'm betting he'll still be wearing a Sharks sweater in October. |

Exactly. They already have Rielly and Klingberg who are pure offensive D. This is a made up rumor to get leafs fan clicks |

Leafs would improve and gain some cap pace if they trade Brodie and sign Dumba. |

Leave it to the Leafs to believe the answer to their problems is a 33 year old, one dimensional, offensive defenseman. |

They won't win the Cup unless they add another 10M+ cap-hit, so ... DO IT!

…yes he would. He would basically accept anywhere that isn’t the bottom half of the standings. You act like he has much choice. |

As much as I like dumba, this doesn’t make much sense. Dumba wants around 5mil, so not much cap space at best and he’s not the greatest defensively, while Brodie is good defensively and Toronto already needs another solid defensive Dman. |

At least our first round exits aren't accompanied by 5M in cap charges and 2 of our top players leaving |

When's the last time Leafs made it to Finals?
Or the third round?
Talk about your top players AFTER you sign Matthews and Marner.
And to be more specific, Bergeron is retiring - after playing 19 years for the same team. How Many Leafs did that? |

There is no way the Leafs bring in Karlsson. Absolutely makes no sense. Now sending Brodie and Nylander out I could definitely see. But for much different player/s than Erik. |

So if the hawk's take brodies contract have to think return would at least a 3rd and 5th. If they take on Karlsson part of his contract for five years, whatever that amount is, have to think a knies and 2nd or 2026 1st. The return would have to be substantial for hawk's to commit to the cap hit. |

Not to mention winning a Stanley Cup. Anybody who says “ yeah, but only 1 cup in 19 years” places too little value on the Cup or hasn’t experienced the euphoria of their hometown team winning the Cup. |

Don't care, no time like the present and your present (frank)ing blows
Enjoy that top 6 - Santo_44
You post dozens of times a week - of course you care.
And until your team actually wins something, you're just blowing smoke.
I'd trade a crappy year (or 5) for a Cup.
I saw my team with the Cup. Not something you can say.
