Rumor: Pesce, Jarvis #1, #2 for Erik Karlsson…
Carolina really wants to get this done and San Jose really can’t do better…The Hawks would take on some of the Cap hit… |

That is a horrendous overpayment for a guy you couldn't give away with additional first round picks just 8 months ago. |

Seems like wishful thinking on SJ part tbh...all that for a guy SJ is sort of desperate to trade, with such a huge cap hit and a NMC...if they can get it, wow, Grier, amazing job.

Pesce for Karlson alone would be bad for Carolina |

Why on Earth would anyone want to reunite Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson? Was it not made abundantly clear last season that Karlsson's output is strongly tied to having the undisputed #1PP role? He's statistically 40% more productive without Burns, and now has Norris Trophy wins with two different teams where he was the #1D.

Massive overpayment. I understand dealing Pesce if you're bringing in a dman, but id seriously reconsider parting ways with Seth Jarvis. Bad deal! |

100% this. Burns with Karlsson is like oil and water. |

This is THEE BIGGEST LOL you’ve ever come up with Ek !
Pesce alone is worth more than Karlsson. |

I hope Carolina does this. Whoever is coming up with these rumors is totally cooked. |

Take out most of those pieces and maybe it could be for Couture or Hertl with 30-40% retained? Even then, I think Kotkaniemi is pretty solid at #2C and only 22yrs old, so really, that wouldn't make sense either.
Overall, I fail to see how this makes sense - barring CAR GM losing his mind... |

EK ten years ago was barely worth that.

I am not a Canes fan specifically so i only get to watch them a few times/yr befor the playoffs start. So i guess I am asking sharks and Canes fans, if reuniting Burns and Karlsson a good thing? Pesce is 28, seems to be a steady defender and jarvis is 21. Is it that the canes have a cheaper version of pesce in the system already? Karlsson is 33 and signed until 2027 at 11.5M...oy! |

Ek took down the Yamamoto and PIT rumor, lol...it was *that* bad, it couldn't even stay on *this* website, lol! |

If this was the actual offer, San Jose would have signed and put Karlsson on a private jet. But if for some reason Carolina can't acquire Karlsson, then they might also look to Yamamoto as a plan B. Unless Pittsburgh scoops him up first. Kyle Okposo could also be a good veteran presence. |

In that case smart move for CAR is to just move asap to Plan B before PIT snags Yamamoto -- players who can so easily replace EK are very rare and it's not worth the risk! |

Sounds a bit rich for a "conservative" cheapskate in Redundant. |

Plan C to Karlsson and Yamamoto is Anton Khudobin. Teams have options right now. That's why most of these contracts are cheap 1-year deals. |

Some of this is true, but the take on the PP role is just false. He had 20 EV goals and 74 EV points. |

I kinda feel like EK is still going to be wearing a Sharks sweater come October. |

maybe CAR think this would put them over the top, but that's to much ....
but everyone remember (Joe) Pesce would problably not resign in SJ...would
just go to to free agency at the end of cureent contract
but....I'd still take that in second if I was SJ |

SJ takes this then 100% flips Pesce either in the offseason or at TDL at 50% and can likely get another 1st. |

Obviously the deal would make a ton of sense for SJ...Carolina not much - especially with DeAngelo coming in - unless they deal Burns? I could see a play for DeBrincat or Nylander, but unless either is coming in signed, this would be way too much to pay... |

Waddell recently said the proposed trade of DeAngelo to Carolina from Philly is still on also. It all adds up. |
