The picks that we did have seemed to be pretty safe picks that probably won't amount to much but maybe we will get a sneaky steal which you hope for when you draft late and don't have a 1st

Other teams in our division seemingly had good or great drafts with some getting what people are saying are steals so who knows

I didn't pay attention to the draft this year but I was hoping we would go for a high risk high reward type as we didn't have a 1st

Who other than Hughes and nemec would be considered a high end prospect for the devils

I think you still need to consider Holtz a high end prospect, and I think Casey has worked his way into that conversation. NJ in general is still a top 5 prospect pool. I think I would rank our top 10 prospects:

Tier1:
Hughes
Nemec

Tier 2:
Holtz
Casey
Schmid?(I think you could argue end of Tier 2 or Tier 3)

Tier 3:
Gritsyuk

Tier 4:
Foote
Clarke
Vilen
Daws

HM: Filmon. This kid could be moving up the ranks, he's looking like a potential late round steal last year.

When one person is claiming everyone else is the problem, it’s almost always that person that’s really the problem.

In regards to the NHL roster, the Devils have submitted a qualifying offer to Kevin Bahl.

The Devils did NOT qualify Mikey McLeod, Nate Bastian, or Jesper Boqvist, allowing them to become UFAs tomorrow. Doesn't close the door on any of them coming back though, but the team just wants to try to keep them cheaper than what they feel an arb hearing would have awarded(all 3 of them had arbitration rights).

Either way, this should make tomorrow/free agency a tad more interesting for us lol. Probably means it's more likely we'll be in the market for atleast one bottom 6 forward.

Not sure about Watson but I'd be up for Wheeler tbh. I havent fully dove into a lot of the market because i wasnt expecting to be involved much at all, but some guys i'd be looking at Nosek, Hathaway, Acciari, and Sprong. No idea what their prices will be though.

Unless we’re bringing in a UFA, kinda feel like we need a bottom 6 center more than bottom 6 wingers- with Foote and Clarke and that other guy in the fold. Maybe I’m missing someone.

Whenever somebody says somebody is a "locker room" cancer they out themselves as not knowing poop about anything.

The devils got a 6th for nothing unless the sharks sign him for less than what the qualifying offer was as they didn't qualify him so he is a UFA
