Currently have 8.2M in cap space. Only AI is counting against cap now. Remove him, that adds $4M (up to $12.2). Add PLD and that takes $8.5 (down to $3.7M).
To have a roster with bare minimum to play a game, they need one more forward, one more D (again, this is the minimum), and a STARTING GOALIE. With $3.7M remaining...
Yeah, cap hell...unless someone is landing in LTIR...

It definitely is especially since Vilardi can be as good or better. The flip side though is if he stays healthy which he has been hurt a lot and out for long periods of time. So definitely a gamble but I agree it is a little too much.
IMO they should just do a full on block buster deal and add Hellebuyck and with the Kings offer also add a 1st and another 2nd.
