Had a feeling Hall was going to be one of the cap casualties. Best of luck to him.
now to sign Bert and Sway. Maybe Orlov if that is even possible. |

$ trade not a hockey trade which is fine and sadly the new norm. Sucks for fans

Playing in Chicago is exactly what Taylor Hall deserves |
|

I think Taylor Hall will go with the distinction of playing with the most 1 overall draft picks:
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Nail Yakupov
Connor Mcdavid
Nico Hischier
Rasmus Dahlin
and now,
Connor Bedard
It's ironic as he was a #1 overall pick as well. |

Good mentor for Bedard in his first year in the NHL, having someone else who went #1 and the pressure that comes with that. |

That's pretty incredible. Will probably add another when he gets flipped soon. |

Why did Ek proclaim that clearing cap space was quite pricey? Boston gave away Hall, without attaching any draft picks, sweeteners, or eating any salary. What's pricey about that? It's a great move to delete a $6M cap hit for the next two season.
Foligno is meaningless. Just a pending UFA that they weren't going to re-sign. Regula and Mitchell are just a couple of RFAs that Boston can either just walk away from or re-sign for the farm.
So this is giving away Hall for nothing. And the hot take is this is PRICEY!

Regula is a decent prospect with size. The Hawks are loaded with young LD in their system though and Vlasic and Phillips are above him on the depth chart. |

Isn't that the point.....that the price of getting the cap space they so desired was to give Taylor Hall away for nothing?

Yeah, playing in a great city, with a team who's had a ton of success over the last 2 decades sounds pretty terrible. I don't think Bedard was alive yet last time NJD were relevant. |

Don't bother. He hasn't seen more than glimpses of the sun through the basement windows in years. As he tries to poke fun at Ek his is own takes have become increasingly questionable, most likely due to Vitamin D deficiency.

Considering how he has played, its really a win for Boston. I have no idea what Chicago is thinking here. Why do they want Hall?
Does it suck for them to lose him, sure, but his cap hit wasnt good for his output, and hell likely get worse. |

I assume they flip him at the TDL for something good. |

Thanks for the health tips doc. My suggestion would be to watch Taylor Hall more closely. He's not a $6M player. Not even close. The Bruins can't afford to carry a $6M guy with his production. Instead of being forced to buy him out or attach draft picks to get rid of him or accept some ugly contract coming back, they were able to get rid of him for nothing. That's not pricey. That's smart cap management. Practically every other expert is calling this a win for Boston. Hall is a decent player, but not for $6M. Look around the NHL. I bet Philly would love to give away Hayes or DeAngelo for free...not happening. How about Pittsbugh trying to give away Granlund - not happening. Look at the steep price LA paid to get rid of Cal Petersen. Boston was smart to act now before teams like Chicago, Arizona, Columbus, etc...fill their quota of cap dumps. |

They want to surround Bedard with some talent and they need to hit the Cap floor, which they were $20M short to start the offseason, now with AA getting a new deal and Hall they still have to add at least $10M before the season starts |

Often the cost of gaining Cap-space is draft picks. Bruins did not have to give that up.

NJD finished third OVERALL last season.. WON a playoff series .
had 3 second place finishes for NHL awards .Coach of year ,lady Bing , Selke . Also had players receive votes for MVP nd Norris .
I DO BELIEVE THAT qualifies as relevant !

He still produces pretty well with 3 rd line minutes. had 8 pts in7 playoff games. if he is healthy and plays 80 games my guess is he puts up 60 pts. if he does Hawks could retain and trade him. I would have liked a asset coming back but something like a 4th rounder is almost worthless for the hawks they have so many picks the next 3 years and more likely will add more. |
