Lucic just turned 35 years old, he's been around a 20 point player for the past three years and his skating has been questionable for a few years now. If they want to sign him to the league minimum, sure, why not. Beyond that I don't think he's a necessary player other than for sentimental reasons.

Management want a younger, faster team so I think they will sign him. Probably 2mill for 3 years.

Does he get you any closer to being a winning team ? My answer would be NO ! Need to worry about dumping OEL and Meyers. Not sure if you can dump OEL through waivers with the NMC but if possible that would be the way to go. I’m just not sure of the CBA if you can arrange with another team to pick him up then compensate for that action. If anyone knows that rule please let me know.

I think it would be great to sign as many former Bruins as possible, especially ones that were on the 2011 Cup team

You cheeky twat...you're like a little chihuahua nipping at everyone's heels since your mighty Bruins got spanked by the lowly Panthers IN ROUND ONE. Now they're about to head into a full-scale rebuild with zero cap space and no top six centers.

Lucic may want to come home. However, Vancouver needs to rebuild and lucic is a 4th liner at best. Doesn’t make sense beyond sentimental reasons.

He may be ideal on a top-5 contending team that is looking for depth grit and size for a playoff run but at league minimum rate. Devils, Rangers, Vegas, Avs, Leaf’s, Bruins…one of those may be more likely destination

I am sure the Bruins rebuild will put them in a competitive playoff calibre team, long before the Canucks or Flyers become legitimate strong teams

Maybe 🤷🏾‍♂️

Sneaky feeling that Jarmo may look to acquire a player like Lucic. Wouldn’t surprise me given their recent trades and hiring of Babs.

Thanks Micheal, as a veteran minimum contract or a PTO, id say sure. Not worth any more than that but would bring some much needed muscle.

If the Canucks committed to a youth movement I could see him as a necessary evil to provide some muscle for players who want to take liberties with any young Canucks. But I don't think that's their plan, and they've said as much publicly.

No, because the Flyers and Canucks are full of incompetent people, throughout the organization, they suck at developing, scouting, and in Canucks case, have some of the most idiotic fans, that think trading for a 6 foot 200 lb, #5 defenseman, a cast-off from a rebuilding team, for a mid 1st and a 2nd is a good deal.

Sounds like exactly the kind of signing that put the Canucks where they are now, both in the standings and cap position. With the added benefit of terrible optics!
