Just sign Korpi for 2 x$3.5-$4M and get on with it!

Thanks, Ben, for this and the linked article. Gabe for 4 would be ideal with an AAV in line with Moore's deal. He's arbitration eligible so the Kings don't exactly have the perfect scenario of a cost controlled RFA coming off his ELC. The numbers you ran on Gabe's potential contracts do make it seem that Blake will need to offload 1 or more of Arvidsson, Iafallo, and/or Durzi to get in Gabe, Kupari, and JAD along with a goalie. I'd also like to see another option at LHD as Bjornfot is still green. Maybe a day 2+ UFA?

Can't see MacEwen getting offered, but I'd like to see JAD stick around for sure.

Thanks for reading!

My guess would be so long as none of the 5 signed defense are moved out, Durzi may play left side if one of Clarke/Spence is used as the sixth D, and maybe we see each Clarke/Spence/Bjornfot for a stretch of games to assess who's ready for a full-time spot.

Agreed that of the other RFA forwards, MacEwen is the one left without a spot.

Iafallo is odd man out. He's nice to have when guys get hurt. But he's basically lost his spot on the LW and cost's to much to be on the 4th line. I also dont think Durzi is safe either.

With the rumor the LAK are on the Dubois potential trade list, how would the Kings make it work trade and contract wise. Rumor is he wants 9M (ask) so odds are he settles on an 8yrs deal at 8.5ish M/yr.

Jets will most likely want Byfield to start the negotiation...

I think this might be a situation where the Kings are thrown in the mix of interested buyers for PLD because of the prospect pool and Kopitar's age. The Kings, however, don't have the money for PLD this year, and I just don't think he's the kind of player who Blake would look at to be the heir apparent of Kopitar. Plus, considering how much playing time Byfield got on the 1st line the 2nd half of the season, I'd be surprised if, internally, the team was disappointed in his play.

Edit: Momentum seems to be growing for this deal in the media which is too bad. If Byfield is part of a deal for PLD then that's doubly bad.
