With each breath, you find yourself becoming very drowsy, very dreamy and relaxed.
With each breath, you drift deeper, and deeper, into a state of BeLeaf. |

Like how the Red Wings ran Yzerman back, or the Caps ran Ovie back.
You might respond to it more positively if you framed it as 'keeping your best players'.

I think anyone would, given the timeline/circumstances.
You walk in day one, swing your Richard around and say I'm turfing half the core. Then it doesn't pan out, and you look like an idiot, and all credibility is lost.
Or do you wait and see what you have, form your own conclusions? 99% are choosing the latter, even with contracts looming.

After JT scored that OT goal man, my Leafs onerbae was so royal blue it was almost black.
But then, not gonna lie, when Florida scored that OT goal, my Leafs onerbae shrank and was like a small, freeze-dried baby seahorse.
But now my Leafs onerbae is stirring once again. |

You’re sure going to keep your powder dry in your introductory presser. The only commitment he seemed to be making was to get to Arizona to talk to Matthews |

Which is exactly why my angle was that a GM change was not going to result in the immediate result everyone is hoping for.
A new GM was always going to spend some time mostly with the group he had and do the analysis survey work required prior to taking measures to implement his own vision.
It's a multi year process and it was never going to be the new GM step in and burn it all down scenario the Dubas haters wanted when they demanded he be fired and a new GM be inserted. |

Yeah, and that's a given being our franchise center and only having a month before the NMCs kick in.
He didn't mention Nylander though, so my guess is that his wildcard for this year, right behind Keefe's job. |

Although I'd imagine he's aware of the 'Core 4' thing and would have an opinion on that from the getgo.

Yup and the longer the Leafs remain a top tier 100+ point team, the less that's going to change, and given their personnel, that's very likely the scenario.
The Dubas haters on here are not very bright if you haven't noticed. |

It's all speculation but you wonder where Shannys oversight stands at that point. Because you'd assume that was a critical component of the interviews, and Shanny wasn't hiring a guy who said he'd ship them all out of town just after telling them they were secure.
I think it's a safe assumption no one was walking into that interview and saying yeah I'm trading Matthews, trading Marner asap... |

Burke thinks hiring Treliving is a great move. According to him although Treliving came from tons of money he wasn’t handed anything. He has worked his ass off since he was a kid.
I didn’t like Burke as a gm but I like his insights. |

isn't tree-living handcuffed past July 1st with NMC's and NTC's kicking in for a few key players? |
